Sooooo this is a bit of a rant thread (I'm a bit more calmed down now) but it's about banning a teammates champion due to your own opinions..

#This is not adressed to banning new champions that is its own problem

So recently on my ranked acc I'v taken a liking to playing blitzcrank... Paticularly in the top/mid/jungle areas.. (Not ranked just normals ATM)

But what happened was there was a player on my team whom decided that blitzcrank top was unviable and chose to ban. This was without any communication (I Was not requested to change due to team comp or anything whatsoever they just banned then flamed after)

I said WTF when that happened being that I AM human I was irked.

What I got in response was lol blitz top stupidest thing I'v ever seen.

Mind you Blit was designed as a top laner not a support. That's what really irked me.. When I mentioned this (I Said something along the lines of Dude blitz was designed as a top laner he was just more popular as a support due to grab, I got a responce of Maybe cuz he was designed as a support)

(I did ask for a report and yes I know this is a frowned upon action but I was really irked. Being that recently I don't have time for too many games in one day, and I really wanted to play the champion and role I preferred)

Then I was proceed to be flamed for the rest of the game with sarcastic comments along the lines of "Too bad we don't have a blit top other wise we'd be stomping"

And when I responded with, dude not cool stop I got more harassing responce of actions involving my parents in inappropriate ways.

Just a little story (I did need to vent a little)

But overall my point is

#Trust your teammates now and then, don't just ban what you don't think is logical or reasonable

  • ##Notes The game before I had gone 8/0 blit

  • I didn't int or feed during this game, I choose a secondary (Mord) and went 11/2/2 with an A+

  • Will not post the acc that this occurred on due to witchhunt rules.

There are absolutely legitimate reasons for banning a champion a teammate wants to play. But when the goal of that ban is to prevent your own team from picking that champion, then that is a pretty clear sign of a dysfunctional team. And when this happens without the banner even trying to reconcile the situation via communication first, then that's obviously a bullshit move.

Frankly, I would have dodged that game if I had been one of the three bystanders. Life's too short to deal with games like that. Kudos on still winning, though.

Yes banning a players intentional pick is ok given that they are last pick that said champion they want is a very popular pick. If it is any other reason than that, in my opinion it's wrong to ban them. Especially if the main reason is you don't think that champion is viable in a certain role. With that said though Justus having one game proves that it is viable doesn't really help. I mean it is just one game that you happen to show. For all we know you could have done really poorly the other 10-20 games but only shown this one because it's good! Same can be said in reverse where one bad game doesn't mean the person is bad with said champion.

All in all I'm glad you didn't feed it be toxic to this person because they ban your pick. You handled it maturely and that is what matters!

Truly it depends if you last pick red side and cant trade with an early champ and are intenting a high pick champ and they comminicate why they intend on banning your champ absolutely. If your first pick blue side no. Common sense normally dictates if theyre doin it to troll you or if they actually doing it for the better of the team.

This is why I just don't show pick intent if I'm playing something that's not meta.

Teammates can't be assholes to us if they can't see what we want to play in the first place.

This is why I hate being the banner.

I always feel like playing minesweeper with champions.

"Okay, big decision time... Kassadin or Malzahar ? Which one? Uhhhhh... Kassadin I guess."

"Dude! I was gonna pick Kass!"

"Then why didn't you pick him as your intention?

"Didn't think I had to!"

I mean I'm kind of on the side of your teammates. While Blitz top can work; it's definitely not ideal and puts your team at a disadvantage. Whether it be normal or ranked, they have right to not agree to your choice.

I know you've shown results that it can work, but honestly at low bronze levels any champion can work in absolutely any role (no offense intended).

Haha, what about your teammate accidentally bans other teammates's intent pick, and the guy that got champ banned goes on feeding frenzy even after countless of times apologizing and asking as calmy as possible?

And then what about posting that on Boards and Riot removes your comments?
