Been saying this for years...FINALLY!

I've been saying for years that Riot needs to stop accelerating the pace of the game. I'm glad the community is still largely getting on board with me.

The year Samsung White won worlds I literally said to my buddy that the pace of the game was in a perfect place. Lane bullies, scaling adcs, poke champs were all playable bottom. Engage disengage, ranged pushed supports all worked. Tank, damage, and utility jungles worked. Casters and assassins worked. Wombo worked, re-engage comps worked, poke worked, split push worked. Tank and damage carries both worked top. Full damage comps worked, tanky comps worked, siege comps worked. It all worked!!!

Now I get that back then people were not too good at the game and most people were maybe not taking advantage of what their champions could do. But think of it, even the top Korean teams like SKT, Samsung White and Blue, and KT were all playing ALL of these style listed above. Maybe meta will never be that varied again, fine. But for God's sake Riot, stop deliberately speeding up the pace of the game!

Any acceleration or slowing of the game should be a side effect of balance changes, not deliberate cow towing to the casual aggro monkeys. DON'T implement runes that give more value to poke and burst than to defensive and sustain damage options. DON'T make tower first blood a huge influx of gold. DON'T increase passive gold gain. DON'T make it so that a tank is only good if they deal pretty good damage too when they are freaking tank. DON'T put in a rune that makes people deal bonus damage to towers. DON'T make drakes so different in value so that you get railed on if you give up an early Infernal or Mountain but then you make a good play from behind and get a freaking Cloud!!! This goes on but you get the idea.

DO: Please I know catchup XP was kind of broken, but please put a little back in when you are behind in levels if you secure a kill onto a higher level champ on the enemy team.

Season 5? You mean League of Waveclear? That season where games consisted of a Xerath and Ziggs waveclearing at each other for 50 minutes and the most exciting thing was seeing which midlaner could get 300 farm the fastest?

Edit: NVM. Wrong season.

Excessive damage is the cause of horrible game pace. There's too much of damage. Players are able to one shot champions and one shot towers. Runes are overpowered and overloaded. Champions are overpowered. There are RNG elements which reduces the skill gap, making the matches luck based.

All Riot needs to do is reduce the damage for both Runes and champions and remove RNG elements.
