Why are so many players terrified of anti-meta

But beg for it to come? -For instance, Shaco support. Sounds trollsy right? But think, Nautilus/Maokai/Leona all have to dive in on you. Place a box, bait the dive, get free damage, and also peel for yourself and your adc when they go in. Also works for anti-gank tools. He is PERFECT for a support, if used as a counterpick. Meanwhile? I get labelled as a troll or a terrible player, neither of which I can claim I am not simply because the one is about the champion and the other is about me, but this works. =/ - Why do players want the meta to be broken, but are willing to report you immediately for trying to do so?

The meta is, was and always will be and anyone that does not follow the commandments of the great God #LC$bigplayz will be stuck down and spend an eternity in the firry depths of Bronze 5.

God forbid you to go duel bruiser bot, adc mid, ap top and jungle. God forbid you to go duel top and roam between mid and top clearing enemy blue. Go forbid you to go Kennen or any other non meta champion.

Because there are other choices that are so much better that don't become completely fucking useless a few minutes into laning.

Um, useless? What? I zoned objectives, nuked the unsuspecting, peeled pretty hard, provided distractions, and all in all- did what a support does. How am I useless when I do their job, AND get my "carry" fed?

Also, having fun is illegal. I just got double reported for it. Whaddup. Totally random tidbit, but ... wow. ARAM is no longer for having fun and trying new things =/

he's kind of right...shaco has wards that last for how many minutes and deal damage with crowd control attached. the only other champs I can think of that do this are teemo and maokai (maokai's last for 30 seconds which is almost no time at all in lane) and teemo's last a long time but he has no access to them until level 6. He can blind, but an unfed teemo/kill steal teemo accident cost a lot more than a shaco support

I wouldn't ask for a shaco support unless I knew them, but it's a viable pick, especially when you get some damage items. You only need one crit and boom, your carry hits them for a kill

Because most people who break the meta end up feeding and make the team lose the game. Sure there are those that do well but people are scared they will lose, especially in ranked.

But if people want the meta broken, but are unwilling to lose (and trial and error is without a doubt one of the best methods in a video game).... you seeing a problem? It creates the circular logic syndrome (or fallacy)-

I see a problem, I know the solution, but the solution is scarier than the problem and so I wish to find another solution. However, the only solution to this current problem, is the solution I have found. The best answer is to be shown said answer, which in turn perpetuates the problem while making the solution ever more daunting. After all, isn't the solution the answer?

If they don't want you to play a certain champ/role combination, that means their are not comfortable with it and may perform worse than normal because of it. If you still pick something like shaco supp you are basically saying: "guys, you might play worse than you normally do but don't worry! I will make up for that". That is alot of pressure to put on yourself. Are you sure you can deliver that kind of performance?

Even if you are sure, would you trust somebody that boasts about how good he is with champions x in champion select? I would probably dodge immediately XD.

Because shaco support is really garbage compared to most supports. Weak peel, damage falls off hard without items, super squishy, melee, boxes get 1shot by aoe in team fights, ect.

Besides pointing out that you absolutely took the wrong point out of the entire post, you are wrong XD. The peel is really stupid if you know how to place boxes and who to slow. It gets even better when you toss out your duplicate. It gets to even more stupid proportions when you go tank or ap shaco. Just saying. And now to break through all your points beause wow is it wrong.

"Weak Peel"- No, fear is the BEST peel. Especially if you know how to place your boxes correctly, same with Teemo shrooms. Not where people are going, but where you ~~want~~ them to go.

"Damage falls off hard without items"- K. But is that the point? You are a support, literally all you do is CONTROL AN ENGAGEMENT. That's why you have either an engage or disengage. Clone to engage, fear to disengage, dagger to peel, disappear to repeat or retreat.

"Super Squishy"- Ok, so build something tanky?

"Melee"- So is Leona, Blitz, Maokai, Nautilus... well yea...

"Boxes get 1shot by aoe in team fights"- Yes they do, but if you place them pre-emptively, like a smart psychotic little clown, it doesn't matter- you got the necessary effect. You feared someone(s) for roughly a second which is a fantastic stun. If done perfectly and with cdr, you placed 6 boxes and are REPEATEDLY fearing them. You dominate a teamfight with those boxes. They have to charge deep, you get free cc on the tank if he charges (and assuming you have damage, as he pops) or massive amounts of disengage on the enemy team.

Fear is a strong peel, but shacos is really unreliable, easy to destroy before the fear takes place, and has setup time.

You don't control engagements because your cc is garbage. Your boxes rely on your enemies being bad and engaging right on them.

You're squishy as Janna and on a supports income you wont get tanky enough to be relevant.

the difference is that they have redeeming qualites. All shaco has is a really shitty slow.

It does matter. Because they don't last very long and unless you're being tower dived on, you have no real way to control where your opponents engage on. Once again, this entirely relies on your opponents being bad.

You seem to misinterpret how I mean the boxes work. You don't place them during, you place them before. That way you get your team to fight while moving (league of mobility after all, not that difficult). This does work. And the fear goes off BEFORE the box can be damaged whatsoever. So you either place it in the middle of a fight (like a bad player) and watch it explode, or you do it properly and place pre-emptively. As I stated. Shaco has a fear, a full distraction, and a slow. You are missing the thread's point though and you know what? I'm perfectly okay with it =/ Not like I expected anything.
