It seems your tunnel vision does not just include balance perceptions, but you also seem to lack reading comprehension and are utterly ignorant of a few facts as well.
Don't rely on the pro scene for balance decisions, less than .01% of players besides the fact that their games are much slower paced.
I used that example to illustrate that Akali's weaknesses do prevent her from seeing much competitive play - her kit leaves no room for misplays; An Akali that misplays is much more likely to die than a Zed who can just shadow away with no negative repercussions. Her kit is much less forgiving - her fixed spell-vamp won't help her survive when 3 people gank her into oblivion.
Your balanced view of akali is due to simply not seeing her very often or seeing highly competitive ones,
It is actually from having played and played against her millions of times, not so much from competitive. I played against dozens of Akalis both mid and support. Akali was never an issue for me.
I admit she has a weakness. No escape, which is pretty much a non issue considering her colossal kill potential.
This is what makes her kit so unforgiving - if you misplay, you die. And kill potential? Akali has pathetic kill potential when you compare it to Zed, Katarina, LeBlanc, Fizz.. to begin with, Akali does half the damage of Katarina with her entire kit combined. The thing that makes Akali Akali is her 3 dashes that cannot be used to escape. That's pretty much her only saving grace - the rest of her kit is a pathetic no-show.
I felt a lot more impactful playing Katarina or LeBlanc than I ever did playing Akali.
What are you hiding behind that smurf bro? Most likely some bronzie/low silv kid thinking you know something.
And wow, an ad-hominem attack. Rank doesn't mean much when experience in playing the character is a much larger indicator of commenting on balance.
I mean besides rank what the Hell are you talking about 12 seconds of peel.
Her entire combo takes 12 seconds, if not more. Mark of the Assassin has an average CD of 6 seconds, then you must wait till you Q again, then E (7-3s), then R (2s between dashes). This is more than enough time for me as a support to peel her.
Her blinkesque dash would require God mode to stop, if you don't the carry is dead within 2 seconds to the avg akali who then has all those spells up again with nearly full energy 3 seconds later.
Aaaaaand I just told you that Akali doesn't delete someone in 2 seconds. She has to pull off her entire combo correctly. Akali gets 10 energy in one second, and her Q-R combo takes away a significant amount of energy. There is a window of time to peel Akali as a support. And if she shrouds, I always carry a pink ward with me.
Assassins are hard-counters to carries - that's universal knowledge. Akali's assassination pattern is a lot more forgiving than LeBlanc's or Katarina's, who truly delete you in the blink of an eye. The only thing more forgiving than Akali's assassination pattern is Zed's assassination pattern.
The fact that to begin to counter akali you must use extra gold just to counter the least essential part of her kit goes to show how broken she is.
100 gold well spent compared to 300 kill gold for the Akali which will hurt your team. Besides, that one item takes away an entire skill of hers - and while she is busy killing that pink ward, that's when you focus her. Since she cannot escape, she is easy to focus.
And no, it doesn't demonstrate how broken she is. Other than stealth, the shroud is completely useless. You seem to not have read the part where I mentioned that quite a few champions can reveal Akali inside her shroud, or where I mentioned that Akali's stealth is the least threatening considering that other champions' stealth is much deadlier and much harder to counter with a pink ward than Akali's.
Again, let me reiterate: This item takes away Akali's only means of escape and/or juking.
And you go nitpicking about the gold amount when it makes Akali completely defenceless in teamfights and various other scenarios.
that gets akali out of many ganks free and can win her early game when she shouldn't.
The MS Akali gets inside her shroud is, like her slow, absolutely pathetic and lasts for only one second. The nerf to her shroud actually makes it easier to gank an Akali because she has no resistances anymore.
With that said, I would suggest actually playing Akali and/or learning where she has her moments of strength and weakness before embarrassing yourself further. Because judging from what you have posted, it is very clear to me that you haven't actually played Akali but are only reiterating faulty and incorrect statements from others.
