How to Fix Poachers Knife in a way.

So we all know Poachers Knife is really bad atm, But what if it, to the enemy team, appeared as one of the 3 other smite upgrades, but still have the smite color and effects of poachers. This would help people get the edge because it no longer says "Oh hey im gonna go counter jg" Now. Thoughts?

League is based around clarity of design whenever possible though, so I'd personally be opposed to this change.

Any alteration to Poacher's Knife should make it powerful enough to be worth taking -- and powerful enough to make your opponent seeing you choosing it something that's permissible.

Its mind games, Similar to shacos R and LB's Passive, you need to figure it out. And an idea i got after reading this is "You can smite enemy champions, removing their ability to smite for 15 seconds" This would allow them to duel pvp smite junglers a bit better, and make it harder to steal camps.

Shaco's R and LB's passive are much better designed for the game though, and there are many ways of figuring out which is which. Items that appear to be other items are not filling the same healthy gameplay space.

The Smite disable is interesting though. Maybe too powerful, given that you can stack charges to deny them Smite and make sure you still have it, but that's an idea I like a lot better than "pretends to be another item."
