Instant cc ?
She is invisible even if cc'ed in her w
-
Even if you CC her while she's invisible, you can still see the shimmer so you should be able to aim your AOE/Skillshots at her.
-
True sight reveals her.
-
Red Trinket shows her location.
Skillshot ?
She has mobility
Predict? This is literally the same with any skillshot based champion into an assassin, not specific to Akali. It just comes with more experience with the matchup.
Lane bullying ?
She has sustain on her Q to help her stand the lane
She no longer has any sustain in her kit. She can only get sustain through her Runes and Items. She generally won't get her gunblade until 14-16 minutes providing she isn't super ahead, so she won't have meaningful sustain until then. Lane bullying her is still very doable, especially as a ranged champion.
Tankyness ?
She doesn't care
This is a damage meta, 1 MR item isn't going to stop her from killing you if you're caught out, but it will slow her down and help you win trades. I wholeheartedly recommend rushing some MR early if you can afford it.
Sustaining ?
She uses energy
She runs out of energy after 2 Qs then she needs to either back off or use shroud. If she backs off then you need to poke her as she's running, don't let her get free damage on you, if she shrouds you need to back off. Shroud is Akali's zone and anyone in it alone is looking to die. Aside from that, she doesn't have a lot of health sustain until she gets gunblade, she'll have to back if you bully her. If you're using a champ that has high mana costs early then odds are you outscale her, and/or have better teamfights than her. Survive her early, beat her late.
What Is supposed to be the way akali would struggle ?
Akali's worst matchups are Mages with hard CC and plenty of AOE, as an "Anivia OTP" I don't think Akali is a bad matchup for you. At worst it's a skill matchup, and unless you're a newer OTP you should have more experience than most Akali players. Bully her early in laning phase. Bait her shroud and back off, then go in and poke her more once it's down. Akali is an early to midgame champion that falls off late, but that doesn't mean she is useless. She still has plenty of burst if you get caught out, and can delay teamfights well with her Zhonyas and Shroud, but proper positioning and cc focus will ruin her always.
what tool doesn't she have ?
Well, listing off a few...
Built in sustain. Removed
Obscurity. Removed
Hard CC. Removed
Good dives. (compared to other assassins/divers, she was literally given obscurity against turrets so that she **had **dive potential) Removed
Invisibility that isn't restricted to a donut.
If this post was, say, 10-11 months ago, I would've agreed with you, but at this point, despite still feeling oppressive to play against, she isn't much of a problem outside of proplay.
Why would i play ANYTHING but akali ?
This ones answer is kind of complex because Akali doesn't bring everything to a team. Nor does she fit in with all comps. There are a lot of reasons to not play Akali and I don't really feel like listing them, they should be obvious enough.
Maybe because you aren't so superficial as to play a champ simply because it is viewed as OP or Meta but because you genuinely just like the Champion. Similar to how I like Akali, not because of how she's viewed by others but because I genuinely like her character, old and new.
