The problem is not the champion, but the player. If you die it is because you misjudged a situation. Even if you were an npc character without any abilities or something, you would still be able to not die. You consider what people have in their kit and your strengths, how you can counter certain movements/engages and how you should move against that. If you think you are weaker, you try to stay in a range where they can not kill you. Whether that is under tower, behind your outer turret, or near your inner tower. These situations change depending on how people move on the map, both ally and enemy. If an enemy is close and you don't have any backup, chances are high you are going to get killed, because 2 people can combine their strengths to become a strong foe. So what should you do? run away. If hes camping (trying to take tower) you can do multiple things:
- See if you can make a play somewhere else, as to trade tower/gold (tp play)
- Call your jungler over
- Just recall, get item. Henceforth you can lane gank another lane and call your jungler as well so you can take bot tower + dragon for example. You can do a variety of things afterwards such as going back top, or tp'ing back. Since you just killed their bot you are now pressuring that lane, so the opposing team is forced to make a decision: Either back off and save your bot towers/inhib, or you continue to push for one more tower, since everyone will recall after they get inhib and can defend top.
- Try to become as big of a threat you can be. Think of it as a penguin posturing up against a threat, so they think twice about attacking the rest of the pack/an injured penguin. You can try to bite away at the minions, so the enemies wont be able to easily dive you. Alternatively you can also use your tools to try and do damage to them in a way you wont get killed. Which would be using your q and w CC, then backing off again and wait for cooldowns.
So what I wanted to say with this. The problem is never the champion, but the player. You observe their strengths and your weaknesses and you act on that. If they are stronger, and you wont be able to handle them, then find a way to do counter damage, or find a way to limit their damage (calling jungler over to force them back, but that takes time and then you wouldve still lost something (tower health), or alternatively have him gank somewhere else instead i.e bot so he can do counter damage there. Also living is always better than dying, even if you lose exp and gold. Simple reason: If you die you can't get any of those and you give them gold and exp instead, while also giving up map pressure. By living you still have the opportunity to get gold and to do something on the map.
Hopefully this helps you. Don't blame your (ima call it) incompetence on someone else and how they should create and adjust something so that it makes up for your incompetence and lack of skill. Sorry that it sounds toxic, I am not trying to be, but I am trying to help you, for the reason that I think your criticism towards RIOT is unjustified. And you can only improve after realizing the situation you're in to adjust accordingly.
P.S I feel like someone will say that my statement: "The problem is never the champion, but the player." is incorrect, but that is incorrect. To explain I'll use an analogy.
Life is not fair. There are so many things you can not control, but you have to deal with that. Let's say you want to do something like working for a super famous and prestigious company, while having dropped out of school because you did not like it. Then of course you are going to get rejected. They are not going to make an exception for you. they aren't going to try and find a place for you in which you could be useful. No, they are just going to reject you and find someone else. If you do really want that position though, you are going to have to work hard for it, go to school, get your bachelors and masters, maybe go another masters -- These are the (some of the) options you have in real life to get to where you want: your dream work place. Of course it wont always work out. Maybe you won't like the studies after all, or don't have enough money or time to be doing all those studies, so you're gonna have to find something else.
Now, back to league. League works very much the same. You have a situation, whether this situation is to your advantage or not. How this power is divided would be champion balancing, but how you judge situations, move your character and act of situations, while considering the amount of power is all the player's responsibility. If you die it is simply because you made a miscalculation, made a mistake in mechanical play, or just got unlucky on a risky play, or outsmarted. So instead of whining about your situation, try to make the best of it, or change it. This can also be taken to heart.
(don't take pity in me writing this whole thing. I had nothing else to do and felt like showing someone another mindset/point of view, so they can hopefully see what nonsense they were speaking. I dont like injustice (flaming someone else for their own faults)
