Can't connect to game?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong place.) I get passed champ select to find I'm not able to actually join the game? The waiting screen never pops up (trust me I waited a while). I reopened league and tried reconnecting... nothing. Wtf? This happened yesterday too.

I don't wanna get banned when I can't even connect to the game...
