Knock ups

Is everyone okay with them being the best form of CC in the game? I mean, we have a champ devoted to just being a knock up bot (Rek'Sai) and Alistar seems to just crowd everyone out of the support role in competitive games. Is this just a meta thing, or are knock ups just too good?

alistar has 100% ban/pick rate in LPL and over 80% in LCS i think.

Really? I haven't looked at the stats myself, but I do know pretty much every NA LCS game I've watched has had an Alistar in it.

most of games in NA has an alistar, he is in favourite right now because ad items has so much penetration and his ult has dmg reduction which means he doesnt need much resistance to be tanky.

Knock ups would be better than other forms of CC because you can time the Animation compared to other forms of CC. So easier plays can be done with knock ups.

In most cases I wouldn't say knockups are too good, they tend to have much shorter durations than other forms of CC in exchange for being the True Damage of CC in the sense you can't counteract them with Cleanse/QSS/Mercurial/Mekael's/Tenacity. (Just as HP effects flat true damage and %AS slows effect both %max HP true damages to a certain extent, BV does effect knockups).

Most champions that have knockups also rely heavily on their CC doing work for their kit to function.

Course, there's always champions like Fizz that have a really powerful knockup because reasons.
