Champion Mastery grading is really weird...
Went, 1-0-29 on Taric and I only got an A. How many Ezreals do I need to dominate in order to get an S?

Kda is just a part. Overall kill participation, objectives, DAMAGE, etc.
I capitalized damage because it seems very important. I can feed like mad but as long as I do tons of damage I still usually pull an S rank.

mostly it still focuses too much on the wrong metrics, e.g. if you play jungle and get your team ahead and then procede to control objectives and get 100%of drake and barons in the game adn win by 30min you will end up with stats like 3-1-7 while your carries go through the roof using your vision and early help - and you´ll end up with a b-a max as you deceided to play for the team instead of playing for your useless kda.
more wards placed/destroyed, more objectives taken or assisted with, over 60% kill participation.
