As An ADC, Here Are Some Things That Bothers Me

When I pick a late game scaling champ (Vayne, Tristana, Jinx), I expect to simply farm and out scale my lane opponent. If I pick my adc before you pick your support, don't go an all in aggro support and expect me to follow up. I'll list these things in order:

  • Not all adcs think they are mechanical gods that can outplay the opposing team. We know our limits and if we don't follow up on your play (speaking to supports) it's because we don't trust ourselves to get anything good out of it, not because your play was bad. You want a poke heavy/sustain based support to go with these late scaling adcs to make those all ins favourable for us to WANT to go in. Supports make or break 90% of the laning phase, so it's up to you to carry it and carry it well.

  • As a support, don't go beyond what you need to, to poke. You wanna chip away at the opposing lane while taking as minimal damage as you can, not force me to have to blow heal on you because you wanna go super aggro for no apparent reason. I HATE having to blow heal because you find the lane too boring and want more action. We can shove out and you can go roam if you want action, but I don't wanna die nor get set behind to that lucian/draven/caiti etc. Just keep your aggression in check!

  • If you're a ranged support and you let the enemy melee support poke down your adc without doing anything to help your adc put some punish in, you're doing something extremely wrong. An Annie should never let a Tahm Kench out poke her or her adc. If you're playing a sustain support, always shield when you see the enemy support coming in for the poke (looking at those pesky sona pokes). Don't try and shield based on reaction, this will cause your adc to take unnecessary damage.

  • Junglers, if your adc is shove under the tower with 15+ minions, DO NOT gank before they take out at LEAST 10 of them. I'm telling you now, I won't move to help you with your gank. You can call me bad, trash w/e. That's essentially 200 gold sitting in front of me and I don't have to burn summoners/take damage or potentially misplay and die and miss my entire wave of minions. Time your gank with waves. Some people have really good wave control (I always try to freeze in front of my tower and ping for help, rarely ever do I get the ganks at the opportune moments, though) and would prefer if you can gank in a timely fashion. If you're late on the gank, it becomes pointless to do to a certain extent. Sometimes skipping a camp and going straight for the gank is better than clearing then going (unless you're going to hit 6 on that camp). Don't get me wrong, this isn't to say I don't trust your decision, it's just that I'm ready for a gank at particular times because of the amount of minions around and I prefer to get a play going before the next wave comes around. This is based on my play style

  • Supports, actually SET UP for the gank. I hate when a jungler's trying their best to gank and the support doesn't budge. If I'm a mobile adc, I'll try to start the engage. If you're an engage support (Alistar, Leo etc) and you're waiting for me to go in, then you're not doing it right. If you're a sustain support (raka/janna etc) then I don't mind engaging. Whatever you're playing, just make sure you set up for the jungle gank.

  • Supports, have SOME lane presence. It's rare that I see a support with 0 lane presence these days, but by god when I come across those supports who do absolutely nothing in lane, fear for their lives at the expense of an auto attack when their full health and blow flash when they're sitting at half health and the enemy has no kill pressure on them, I feel that 2v1 lane incoming. Have some confidence people!

  • Adcs, respect your god damn laner. Yeah, you're the adc. Yeah, you may think you're hot shit. But respect BOTH of your opposing laners. Don't ignore one and focus the other, you're going to screw up somewhere. Be aware of your limits and stop blaming the support for all YOUR mistakes.

TL;DR

I ain't the best darn adc you ever saw, I play for the teamfight phase and I wanna get there without giving up a lead. I just need help getting to that spot where I can do fine. I prefer to fight uneven fights and not 2v2s. I play late game scaling adcs or utility adcs, so just let me farm up and lets have some team impact~

as to point 4, if they go in, after pinging on their way, and you don't, and you let him and the sup get 2v2d, its on you, and don't cry when the enemy adc is ahead of you.

Most junglers that I play with, come in when the enemy is in the middle of the lane and I'm under my tower and gank with another incoming wave. This is a bad position for your adc. If you're coming in during this time, with a full wave under your adc tower, if you ping and I ping back, but you still come, then that's on the jungler, not me. I basically already told you I'm not going to be a part of that gank. So you're coming of your own accord, and if you die and go "adc?" I'm going to say, "I told you to back off."

People I play with never ping back back off. And when I gank its cuz both the opponent laners extended past the 2nd lane bush and are incredibly pushed.

Then that, I WILL follow you on. That's not something I have to go out of my way for, and I know for a fact that we will be able to get at least one kill, or all of their summoners on an engage like that.

It all depends on the positioning. I normally ping for help when I need it also, so if you come within the 3-5mins of that help ping, I'm more than willing to follow up.

I just had one.. I was yas jg... not ideal I know, but I make it work...

The adc was draven, the sup ekko. I ping omw. Im near full health, and have red. I step into river bush and they back off a little, ekko lands his slow, I timed the gank to be with a minion wave so I could dash thru it to get to them. ekko e's to jhin/ enemy adc, then the enemy supp bard stuns me, as soon as im out of the stun jhin roots me, they kill ekko. I get frozen by bard... then they kill me. Draven still farms.

Oh, that's terrible. When I play Draven I play for kills. This is one adc where I say screw farm and would much rather farm champions. If you come in as jungle and I'm playing Draven, I'll be the one starting the engages.

Only problem is, Draven is my fun time champ, so I rarely ever play him in ranks. :p

I'm a jungler and it always makes my cringe in fear of a lost game whenever I see another jungler going for ganks after 5 repeated "Back Away" pings.

Brain Errör 4041 votes

You're pinging "back away" or your laners are pinging "back away"?

TequilaZombie1 votes

When the jungler ganks AFTER being told to back away. When I'm laning I usually spam it and type "not now" in the chat. I wonder why junglers never listen to it.

Brain Errör 4041 votes

Ah, yes this can be quite annoying as well. When you actually don't want jungle ganks and they still try to gank.

Worst thing ever? 10 seconds to your CDs to be off and you get that sweet Flash+Ult engage that will kill the enemy laner. You mentally prepare yourself and allows the enemy laner to stay in lane. He wards the bush.

You see your jungler heading your way. Sweat rolls down your face. You say it's warded. He keeps moving. You ping for him to back away. He's closer now. You take the time to type in the chat why he should stay away. He's sitting at your bush. The enemy recalls.

Seconds later, the chat window pops. In red letters you see the name of your enemy, followed by the words: "Lol, warding OP".

Entitled ADC's get on my nerves. If you can't make a play within the first 89 minutes of the game. Stop playing ADC.

What do you mean? Elaborate for me.

I main top lane, and I'm always looking to the counter tp gank botlane. When I have an adc on my team that only farms, Even when he is spoonfed a kill and chooses to farm over it, It gets on my nerves. Don't play ADC's if you cant capitalize on plays.

You misunderstand, this is mostly before mid game. So basically, this is all before everyone gets their first item/half item and hit level 6, so within the first 10minutes or so. If you read everything, you'd realize that I like fighting uneven fights. If you have a good tp incoming, then I'll be sure to follow up on the play. This is mostly against unfavorable matchups, if you haven't caught onto it. The champs I play are late scaling and have a tough time against early game bullies.

So your use of "entitled adc" is a bit off to me. Why is me wanting to farm up being entitled? You get to have an easy time top lane without worrying because I'm not spoon feeding the enemy in my attempt to become the next Gosu.
