What do you consider high elo?
Since most of the player base is bronze and silver what would we consider high elo in NA????

Diamond 2 and above
I looked online and plat is like the top 5 percent of players in NA how is that not high elo?
Still bad skill-wise
I am something like top 1 percent in Dia 5 and i suck ballz

I do agree we all have to improve our gameplay but looking at statistics I would consider plat high elo. At least plat 3 and above.
Yea I agree,Plat is high elo according to stastics
High elo isn't about skill though, if the top 3 percent of basket ball players could barely dribble, they would still be at the top.
I guess I'm high elo then.
FeelsGoodMan
Technically yes :D
Not if you play on EUNE LuL
Technically yes

If I am currently (2017) a s5 scrub, that barely got to s2 last season and some games I am able from time to time beat double d2 gank top vs. Leo and double kill them (riv/rammus) or win games vs dia/plat/gold (try-hards) mix composition of players from time to time, does this gives any hope for my newbish soul? #FeelsGoodMan

plat 5 is top 15%, but plat 4 is top 10%
Platinum and above is considered high elo. It takes patience and dedication to achieve that, despite what anyone says.
The players in Platinum are very good and have a great understanding of the game and its mechanics.
High elo is like master+.
Being better than the majority doesn't imply high elo when the majority are low elo.
Bronze three and below is below average bronze 1 to like silver 1 is average gold is above average plat something is high elo
This isn't my opinion it's just based off player percentages and statistics.
Everything above my current elo is high elo for me. Simple like that.
This sort of thing largely comes down to people having two definitions of 'high', which are both valid but people sometimes argue because they don't realise theres different defintions being used.
Say for example that there was an exam in a class, and the class average on the exam was 30%. I think most people would consider getting 30% on an exam to be pretty low. Now consider someone who got a 50% on the exam. They're way above average, and may even be in the top of 5% highest marks on the exam, and yet they still 'only' got a 50%, which is not even a passing grade in most courses. So relatively speaking, they got a high mark, but in absolute terms they still got a low mark.
Talking about 'high' elo is often the same sort of thing. You can be better than the majority of players by being gold or so, but in absolute terms you're still low elo, since the majority of players are bad at the game. I'm inclined to think 'high elo' only really starts at D2 or so, but obviously theres no sharp transition.
edit: Oh hey, this is my second response on this thread. Why did a 5 month old thread get bumped o.O

How can it be average? Im in gold 1 and im counted as the top 13% of players

I consider D1+ high elo.
The rest of us are just casual scrubs
Gold
statistically 50% of players are unranked.
being bronze 5 makes you better than 50% of all players.
silver 3 is 50th percentile for players who play ranked. (better than 75% of people who have league of legends installed)
platinum is where you start to get pretty good at league and can make decisions and such.
its argued that everyone in plat 5 is a boosted animal and really had a low total game pool and they just play decay games in gold elo to never fall out. so plat 4+ high elo.

No, because the starting MMR is 1200 which is like mid or high silver equivalent I think. Anyone in bronze has tanked far below the starting MMR. So unranked > bronze.
It's debatable that Plat is high elo. Diamond and above definitely is.
High diamond and above
Above plat 3+
