So I got reported for 3 games and got a 14 day ban. The other 2 games I am willing to admit was my fault, but this game I wish I could pull up the enemy chat, this was completely stupid. The enemy team had a trio Que who was toxic towards there support and then flamed me so I had to argue with them but apparently if 3 people report me I get the punishment. I never understood why riot can't just review this specific game and see I was defending myself.

A) Two games would already be enough.

B) If you want to defend yourself: Mute and report. There's is absolutely no reason to retaliate towards verbal abuse with more verbal abuse. It's like putting an arsonists house on fire, in retaliation to having your own house set on fire. That's not self defence, it's vigilantism, and it gets you punished in real life just as much as in game.

There is never a point where you had to argue with them. The option to ignore them is always on the table.

All the system needs is one report to flag a game. The others do nothing. And, as you said, you had two bad games on your reform card already.

This isn't arguing: this is insulting your team, plain and simple. They may have been insulting you, but that doesn't make this the right course of action, or an excusable one. :(

Sometimes mediocre game logs are added to reform cards. You don't NEED to be highly toxic in three games, necessarily, to be punished. If your other two games were bad, then that's why you were banned.

You are wholly responsible for everything that is said in game by you. It does not matter if someone else is telling you to fuck off, calling you trash, threatening your family, etc.

You have a mute feature. Type "/mute @(champname)" and you won't see any of their chat. Report them after the game.

You were rightfully punished because you showed a tendency of being negative and toxic throughout (probably more than) three games. The fact that one of them was in retaliation for others' toxicity does nothing but prove that the punishment was justified.

To recap: retaliation is never acceptable, no matter how severe others' chat is. If you are offended by someone else's chat, you are free to (and encouraged to) mute their chat/pings as necessary to ensure you do not have to see it anymore.
