Sightstone Upgrade Theorycrafting

What if sightstone had upgrades similar to the jungling items, where they are only usable if the champion has a certain summoner spell? It would give supports something useful for their sightstone, other than the vision. The only spell I can see this being attached to is summoner 3 though, since it is the most useful spell for supports. This would keep junglers that build sightstone (Lee, Nunu, Elise) from using the upgrades without losing summoner 4. It could also just flatout be made unbuildable if a smite upgrade is already in effect, to prevent champs like Shaco from being completely broken in ganks/1v1.

It would still be the same build path, but closely resemble the Machete upgrades where they all augment exhaust, then can be further upgraded into enchantments. It would start out with item 1028 then upgrade, then enchantments, with the enchantments providing the 5th ward that item 2045 does. The upgrades would cost 950 total instead of the 800 for sightstone, to make up for the new passive. The enchantments would be similar to the jungle enchantments but not quite as offensive-oriented.

Upgrades I can see being useful: Freezing Exhaust: Provides an AoE to the exhaust, applying half the effect to enemies around the exhausted champ with the same radius as a ranged Iceborns proc.

  • This would provide supports with little teamfight presence at least some presence. Also provides protection against the triple assassin meta.

Speedy Exhaust: Provides the caster a speed boost towards the affected enemy, much like Soraka passive.

  • Complements supports who lack gapclosers or those who already have gapclosers. (Thought of Braum specifically)

Double-edged Exhaust: Doubles the effects of exhaust, but also applies the effects to the user

  • For supports who dont really do damage or have mobility. (Thought Leona, Thresh, Nautilus)

Idk What To Name This Exhaust: Adds Grievous Wounds to the affected target and the caster does extra Magic Damage over time to the affected.

  • Made to provide supports who typically took ignite a way to get the benefits of its supportive abilities while not providing the guaranteed damage. Very similar to red smite upgrade. (Annie and any other "Support")

Enchantments: The Wall: +200 Health Unique Passive: +20% of Bonus Health Unique Passive Tenacity

  • Obvious counterpart to Cinderhulk, but toned down to keep it from being overpowered. Removed Sunfire Cape but added tenacity to add to the "tanky disruptor" role.

The "Support": +40 AP +10% CDR Unique Passive: Hitting enemies with a spell adds a debuff that boosts the Attack Speed of any ally that autos the affected enemy

  • Basic stats for the "support" Annies and whatnot. Passive for those AoE supports like Sona and Fiddle.

The Shredder: +30 AD +10 Armor Pen Unique Passive: Dealing physical damage to an enemy champion reduces their armor by 5% for 6 seconds. This effect stacks up to 6 times.

  • Provides an enchantment for those of you who like to go support Xin or support Warwick.

Speedy Funtime: +200 Health +20 MS Unique Passive Rage

  • I made this for no reason lol though it would be fun.

Any suggestions are appreciated, but go easy por favor. This is my first actual, thought-out, post

Real supports like to watch the enemy burn: summoner 14 .

Nah, if supports don't get gated early by buying sightstone they can smash the bot lane all on their own. I should know, that's always what i do. Damn love thos sexy smexy upgrades though!

Indeed, having the sightstone evolve into another item would be nice.

I really think they should just implement different sight stone options at T1 rather than red sight stone.
