I don't understand. I literally have games where everyone gets destroyed or we have that unlucky bad player and the game goes completely one sided. And vice versa. Games are either so easy its like bots, or its miserably hard/impossible. Never in between. Is the issue of games being decided by bad matchmaking going to be fixed? Or like is this game going to stay shitty enough to the point where we just stop playing, since riot stopped caring.

I stopped playing in December for this reason, so if recent patches have improved things, then that's beyond my knowledge. But since late in Season 8 (definitely in post-season) Riot has been INTENTIONALLY trying to make the games faster and whether intentional or not, this means games snowball faster & easier. That doesn't mean it's absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to make a comeback, but it is ridiculously difficult, and with the 15 min. surrender and Riot's efforts to mollify people that are "trapped in bad games", a large portion of the playerbase gives up in the 10-15 minute range, even if they keep playing, they've mentally checked out.

All of which is to say, that yeah, even if games are still running 30-35 mins (as defenders point out), MOST (note I didn't say ALL) games "end" around 15 mins, so the vast majority of games FEEL one-sided and unsatisfying. Unless you're into just chasing kills for "fun".

I simply don't have this experience.

My observation in my own games is that this happens when there are players that doesn't use vision and play safely. If you play a "super aggro bloodtime killfest" style, you are either going to steamroll or get steamrolled. If literally every game you play starts to feel like it's a stomp, you may want to examine your strategies when playing from behind.

Of course, this can always happen to you when you have players on your team that have no clue. I recently played a ranked game where I was trying to get vision around dragon, got caught out, and after my two wards in jungle got cleared, my team did not have a single ward on the map. That really shouldn't happen. And we got steamrolled, unsurprisingly. There was nothing I could do.

But if every game is like that, you are likely contributing.

There's a reason for this. Riot and tencent want the game to be a monetization mobile game. Gamble on everything and spend more money.

my issue is that this game isn't about skill anymore- it's about how to tilt people. Or getting people tilted- or legit having somebody who tilted last game still que up and say something outlandish that makes this current game a loss.

I've legitimately lose games where the ENEMY carries are out damaged by me, the support.

Oh this game is more than just dmg charts? It's lane priority, it's rotations, it's wave management, it's learning which minions to kill and when... it's number crunching of which minion do I kill to hit next level so I can agro in the same second OR which minion do I kill so I lvl up and safely run away because BOOM leveling up just gave me that extra bit of health to slip on by... [ there's more numbers to this game than any math class I took in school cuz MERICA insert sarcasm here

It's legitimately being matched with people who don't know how to play the game. Or at this current moment is people who legit are raging at each other since lobby. But you can't dodge without losing LP and getting low prio que.

I'm just about to say Fk it and go to low prio que. Apparently I hear a lot of high tier players are there [ according to friends, I don't personally know]

but seriously. This game isn't about skill. It's about who's the biggest b*tch on your team. Or theirs. That's the reason I just don't enjoy playing ranked. I'm not learning anything. I'm not being the best nor even trying at this point [ I play ranked on and off- I specifically take the time to note school hours because I ABHOR playing when the children aren't in class. Like that stops them...]

Seriously. A lot of thought goes into my ranked experience. And experience has taught me that no matter how much effort or thought I put in, I'm gunna get somebody who tilts my team before the game is even decided- which by logic decides the game at that point.

sigh Like I don't even play Summoner's Rift anymore because team mates. And muting them doesn't solve anything.

saying Riot cant have a good system because of variables is BS.

They have massive amounts of Big Data on players. Yes New accounts are harder BUT play styles are not. If I have an account with 2k games Riot has 2k games worth of my play style. If I make a new account. Riot can identify that its me or at least I play the same as my 2k account.

Champion skill level can be calculated. They CAN do all of this (I work with big data). They ether choose not to OR they do and use the data for a different outcome.

YEP I just played a matchup with a 200 points MMR difference between both teams. Iisnt that equivalent to 2 divisions? We had two Iron 2 vs all S4 and one S3. We got rolled without resistance. I mean hey could have at least splitt up the irons to one per team to even it out. This sorta thing is what made me quit this game several times in the past.

It's weird because I have been hating on this game for months but I have been having fun last like 3-4 days. Not sure why.... like the game is definitely shit compared to prior seasons but.... I am still kinda enjoying it. I think I finally mostly stopped giving a fuck and that has helped a lot. Been playing more normal and just playing what I want. I have grown to just be more patient and realize everything can basically one shot me so I just try and play patiently and wait to strike. Been playing a lot of off role LeeSin just waiting to stike. Plus been abusing Galio mid. But honestly... I don't care if he op.... assassins and other champs that feel so dumb to die to be strong forever. So having a champ that has cool downs and skill shots doesn't feel as shitty to play (although he is op as fuck). Like.... there no way he won't be pick/ban in LCS at this current rate. He going to be busted as fuck in pro.

But idk.... I noticed last season to I had fun right before season started (so preseason). I even was ranking up in multiple queues had plat esimiated mmr at one point lol like I was really feeling it. Then season 8 went live and I had my worst fucking season ever hahaha (not lowest rank but just worst experience). I think its just right now since it preseason no one cares and that's making the game fun. But once season starts everything going to be a shit show again.

Plus... these changes to ranked re going to be dumb as fuck. The extra tiers are w/e but rank by role + how bad they currently fucking up placements for new accounts..... GOING TO BE A FUCKING SHIT SHOW. Soooo yea best to just not play this game for months when season starts next week. It feels great doing placements on an account that had gold 2 mmr but didn't get placed last season being currently pre ranked iron 3...... but playing with gold players. But half the people in the game "bronze" because same situation but they all clearly gold-plat plaeyrs lol. Shit is so fucking dumb lol. I get mmr & rank different but..... when its 2-3 tiers different shit gets really dumb you can't even analyze opponents because their rank means nothing since their mmr so much higher than their "rank".

In my experience the game is bad now. However, I have control under my games. I am able to maintain 80+% winrate on my new accounts. There is a trick to that, but I guess laners have it harder than junglers, because the game is so bad. Jungle is ganking too much and Riot will make us gank even more. I have to learn how to play Twitch now.

for me it's when riot just kept reworking champions into less fun versions of their former form. Not only that you lose new players because the champions and the game is becoming more and more difficult to play each day.
