Turret Idea
Are turrets in a healthy spot right now? Personally, I still believe the turrets are basically enhanced minions or equivalent to a scuttle-crab. They might as well exist solely for true sight with the damage they deal. Granted, squishies take a decent amount of damage, and of course level one turrets still provide a huge chunk. But get one or two armor items on somebody like popppy and turrets merely tickle. Consistently.
Here was a thought i had kicking around in my head: What if Turrets added increasing penalties per consecutive shot taken?
The 1st turret shot taken would be normal damage . 2nd shot would apply a debuff that causes you to take increased turret damage (just like it is now). 3rd shot could be a minor slow , nothing too heavy, but it at least gives you a chance to fight back or get that return kill. How many times has someone escaped with ~20 hp.?? The fourth shot could give an increased slow, punishing you for taking that many turret shots , which to be honest should kill anyone early - mid game. The 5th shot could reduce the armor of target, giving even greater penalties to tanks who basically eat turret shots for breakfast (looking at you
). 6th turret shot could apply a grievous wounds debuff, and the 7th shot could double the bonuses of the first three turret debuffs or something similar.
Of course the numbers and even the debuffs i mentioned may make the game unplayable. i would like some feedback on this idea though, to see if im correct about turrets.
Would this alleviate some of the problems the turrets are having? would this make turrets actually something to fear in the late game? could this be helpful to the first turret bonus? you would have to really consider your options a little more when deciding to go for that 3 minute dive, or even the 4 man ganks because of the consecutive bonuses. I'm not too great with numbers so i wouldnt know how strong to make each of these bonuses. But i feel if turrets had some kind of change like the one mentioned, you would have to give a bit more thought to your gameplan when approaching the dive.
