Friendly Reminder about using the Honor System

It exists. Use it. Thank you for your time.

...But really, honor your teammates if you truly think they deserve it. its a great little motivation booster and personally when i get one i think about what i did to earn it that game, and then i use that information for future games. its a great way to promote positivity . its a great way to let a support know you like what they did in lane, and maybe motivate them to continue to support. we all know good supports are hard to come by, so show them some love

this goes for all of your teammates as well. this system is underappreciated

i do think we need some more banners out there, i hardly see any banner'd names.

It's literally pointless though.

Like, you don't get any benefit for getting commendations.

Once the system is reworked and actually DOES something impactful for good players, then people might just use it.

The problem with the honor system is that there is no reward for honoring people. Humans are selfish in general, most only will use a feature if there is something in it for them. And to make matters worse, many people feel like its all their team's fault when something goes wrong, which makes them very unlikely to want to do something positive.

Riot needs to rebuild the system keeping those two things in mind.

It would be cool if it were linked to hextech crafting.

True, i try to use it when I have a good teammate, of just someone friendly/who gives advice in a non-asshole way. Just had a great team all around to get into my next promo match and was so excited about it that i forgot to honor :(.

Basically if they contribute to a win without being toxic, I try to give people the teamwork honor at least for my FWOTD, if not more often.

I try to follow three rules when l when it comes to honor- they don't talk but contribute? Teamwork. They talk but only strategy? Helpful. If they do talk and are nice to everyone? Of course friendly!

But sadly... I haven't received many honors this entire month. It sort of makes me sad to be completely honest, I consider myself a very friendly person and I find it sad that people don't take their time to honor a teammate- it only takes a second!

So let's try to spread the honor around, and make the Rift a more enjoyable place to play.

I'm sorry that was really cheesy. ^^^ item 3070

If there was literally any point to the honor system, I would use it. There is zero point to the honor system, and since I don't stick around to bs in the lobby, I don't bother. What's the point?

No one is going to get a ribbon anymore outside of "farming" them doing like, 5 mans with friends who honor like that.

I had 2600+ teamwork before I got trolled by a 4-man premade in ranked and lost it all to a 2 weeks ban, first ever offense, for feeding. Mods didn't think to look at that and think "maybe if this guy's got 2600+ teamwork he didn't actually feed intentionally". No, they just banned me, so my point is, yes it's useless.

Not to mention it's based off % of games but you lose your honors while retaining games played when you transfer servers so it's literally impossible to unlock Honor Badges for people like me who moved from NA to OCE.

I always honor good teammates and awesome opponents :)!

I am a huge fan of the honor system. The should make a bigger deal out of it. It would help boost team play and lower toxicity. People should feel like if they are going to feed or flame or play at a low standard in any match, it should cost something.

And, if you are a great teammate, or a well mannered in game coach...You deserve a reward more than someone who put up another S on their main this month .
