When you're Aurelion Sol and you only have AP runes/masteries and items yet you still do 300 damage to towers. Or when you're Renekton with a long sword and you auto an Ekko once and do half his health. The math there is just perfect.

Also, Renekton W does 10 (+150% AD) at rank 1 (nobody maxes it first or second), so that's not even half of anyone's HP assuming 0 armor.

Mecha MaIphite1 votesLevelling W gives you 20 damage per rank whereas levelling E gives you 30 damage per rank in just one dash. It doesn't feel like E does damage, but mathematically, maxing it before gives you more damage even if you only hit one dash.
W damage is already pretty good on its own, but E needs some points before it starts to do more damage.

Levelling E also reduces CD too, and given that E has a longer CD, I find that it really limits how often you can trade effectively. That's just why I prefer E max second.
MasterSomething1 votesAh, personally I prefer to max W second because of how fast my stun can come back up. Thunderlord's + Penetration + Maxed W + Black Cleaver + Hydra... Does so much damage.
SnazzyTheMister1 votessince this has turned its focus to renetkon i would like to point out that the second dash of e reduces armor and is an aoe ability, so maxing it second can give you 20% more armor reduction (for a total of 35%) on multiple people in a teamfight instead of a 4 second reduction on the cooldown of your stun.
