A bit of a Rant

With the various cases of Riot discrepancies over the past few days, combined with how the wording of the tank update makes everyone hate Lee Sin, I was a bit shocked to see how the community responded. Its honestly kinda depressing. Its also kinda irritating. It seems all I see is misinformation, opinions presented as facts, and entitled League players.

In regards to the Nunu support case, you see people sticking up for the Nunu main. While its nice to see that League players are actually showing some form of compassion towards each other, its also sad that people immediately blame Riot. People stop and say, "How come this guy gets banned even though all those toxic feeders on my team never do?" And instead of drawing the conclusion, "Hey this guy must be doing some pretty bad stuff to be reported this much", people instead draw the conclusion that's Riots in the wrong. While I, personally, agree that the banning of the Nunu was unjustified, I don't think it was Riots fault. Before you dismiss this as merely some shit-post, consider this:

If you que for something distinctly off Meta, tell your team you're doing it, only to find out that they don't want it in their game, who is it at fault? Is it the player, forcing his/her team to play how they want? Or is it the team, preventing a player from doing what they want? If I was Riot, the best way to deal with this problem is too remove it. Since Riot can't ban a team, the only apparent option is to remove the player.

Another thing that bothers me is that people take, and say things that aren't facts, like they are. For example, the case with Jhin, people will tell you he's got a 50% winrate with a 50% playrate. That's not true. Jhin is the most popular champion, but his playrate is more like 34-37%. This and this both show his playrate as far less than 50%. I see all these people, all riled up about Jhin, with all the wrong information. When you post something here, with information that's either incorrect or outdated, all your doing is making the chaotic state of the boards worse. At least try to fact-check your sources, don't just knee-jerk post.

Finally, player entitlement. Its depressing, it really is. I started seeing this during the release of the Karma Winter-Wonderland skin. Before I start, I apologize to any Karma mains who aren't like this, sorry you have these clowns maining your favorite champion. I saw several articles about how the skin wasn't good enough for Karma, and how it was Riot's job to fix the skin, and make it more deserving of Karma. What? I understand the want to have your main represented well, but the way some people would act, it disgusted me. It was pathetic, and more so, the behavior I would expect from children, disappointed in their parents choice of presents. It was disgraceful. Then I see things like Autofill hate posts or responses to certain changes in champions and items, and I think to myself, "How can a person be this entitled?" League is a free to play game. It is not like COD, Halo, or No Man's Sky, where you pay for a product, and expect a certain amount of quality in return. It just irritates me.

Well, that's the end of this. Thanks for reading.

Heyo, greetings from the Karma community!

I wasn't quite on board with all the complaints about the new skin, but I can understand pretty well, why there was this overreaction. The communication between Riot and the Karma community has been.... abysmal for a long time and - while this has been true for most champion communities out there - she is one of the champions who suffered the most because of this.

Since every new change to her kit (and historically, her visuals) was in stark contrast to the expecations in the community, old parts of our community have been repeatedly being alienated. And after that wild buffings spree from Riot a year ago (which wasn't what she needed at all), I think some people just snapped and started jumping at every single bad thing. They became cynics and would howl at every possible occasion to finally get some attention from Riot. And this new beautiful skin with its few bumps and misses was just another opportunity.

As I said, I was not on part with them. I am not the guy for visual stuff. But I have spent a lot of time with this hurt and neglected community, and the fact that they would jump at the slightest failure of Riot when it comes to Karma ....comes to no surprise to me.

I hope I could clear this up a little! If I failed, let me know!

Riot should never ban a player based on champ select choices. Period. This is how new metas are created..experimentation. Playing something way off meta is also fun sometimes. If the person shows competence in it, it shouldn't be an issue in ranked. And if its a norm, who cares just do your best. The win doesn't matter there anyway.

You the difference between a 37% playrate and 50% play rate is really inconsequential when you consider the size of the adc pool. Ideally adc picks should be relatively evenly spread. The fact that they are weighted so heavily toward a single champ is a glaring indicator of imbalance that needs to be addressed.

To address your statement about player entitlement, yes you have a valid point with this to an extent. However to say that this game was free is certainly not accurate. Based on how much I have played this game, I have bought RP because it didn't feel right freeloading anymore. To that extent, anyone that has bought RP is a paying customer. As such, players have a right to point out glaring problems in game play to Riot. Especially this season, which, so far, feels like a giant disaster in many respects. The fact that there are only ~5 junglers right now who can clear the jungle in a healthy and timely manner is insane. The difference in early game strength among the jungle champs incorporated with the slow respawn times of jungle camps, clearly creates a dominant group among the champions in that role. Stacked lethality offers the same armor reduction as max stacks of a black cleaver on a 300 armor tank...except its rare when anyone has 300 armor. Then other pen items stack on top of that? Nope, something isn't right there.

There are glaringly obvious things that are wrong with the game that seem to be ignored time and again. The fact that armor pen item balance has far from been established is just one of many issues that continue to plague the game and if people don't speak up about it, Riot will assume its fine.
