Will Sylas be the new Yasuo?
So, I was doing some testing along with some research. Sylas is deceptively difficult to weave abilities and autos for a lot of people. Also, his decision-making and such seem a little interesting (such as what ultimate to steal at what time, engaging, etc).
However, if you checked LolAlytics before Patch 9.5 rolled out, you could refine the search to Master+ for rank and see that Sylas is somewhat overwhelming in a whole lot of match-ups.
At lower levels he has an abysmal win-rate in comparison, but has an obscene ban rate still. Yet, when someone who knows how to use him gets the champion, he is extremely oppressive in lane, with potentially three dashes, a shield, an extremely good heal, good poke, good wave clear, and can use whatever tools your team brings to the party against you (Taric ulti used by a burst champion :D ).
His kit has abilities that have multiple casts, or naturally have multiple activations (Q). He even has a that tiny knock-up for 0.5 seconds. All-in-all, a rather loaded kit.
And despite all of this, he gets buffed in this patch? Now, mind, I really enjoy playing Sylas. I think he feels smooth and is fun to play. I have not tried him since the patch yet for 9.5, but I will soon.
I doubt he will ever have the protection that Riot throws at Yasuo, but I found it interesting that, at top level play, he seems overwhelming at times, yet is getting a buff. And even at low level, his ban rate was comparable to Zed's, even with a rather weak win % in most matchups.
Any thoughts?
