Some Questions and Thoughts About SoloQ Ladder
So, as much as I know, Solo Queue is going to be live in couple of days.
I was wondering, will my current Ranked Rating matter for anything? I know it's going to be a different ladder, but as SoloQ is late to be released and players have already put a lot of effort trying to climb, wouldn't it make sense to just copy the current rank and separate them after?
Example: Let's say I'm Gold 3. I was placed in Gold 5, but I tried my best to climb up and got to Gold 3. Now Riot is telling me that I will have to start it all over again, from the point 0 if I want to have good SoloQ rating, reach challenger and get recruited in LCS. That would be fair if I played duo games and such, but for players (including me) who haven't been playing with their friends and tried to climb the ladder alone, you're basically telling them that it doesn't matter, what they have done so far, and they have to redo everything. Again, I know that current ratings won't be lost, but kept exactly the same on a separate ladder.
Again, I think it would be fair to replicate current ratings and let players keep climbing from what they have already achieved. You could say: "People with less skill could've been boosted up so it's undeserved" and such things, but if they don't deserve their elo, they'll drop off quickly, that's not a concern, ALSO why would they now start playing alone, if they have been playing with friends and partners so far.
I might be missinformed, so don't hammer me if I made some mistakes :)
Also, not sure if it's a Gameplay Boards subject or Help and Support
