Riot you fucked up badly with gnar

Everything about gnar is a fuck-up. He was released at a time when only ranged top laners were good. Melee top laners were shit and no one used them because they were shit. SO WHY DID YOU MAKE THAT EVEN MORE PROMINENT BY ADDING ANOTHER FUCKING RANGE TOP LANER? Laning against him is impossible. His %health magic damage makes absolutely no possible building path to defend against him. His infinite mobility makes him impossible to catch or run away from. He has more cc than nautilus, with a completely obnoxious and unnecessary slow on his boomerang. Having TWO STUNS on one of his forms is absolutely ridiculous. His passive is useless besides the fact that it heals him pretty much. Mega gnar is so inferior to mini gnar it's almost like comparing a moldy piece of soggy cheese to an all you can eat buffet. The champion concept is cool, it wasnt executed properly however, and both the time it was released and what followed after it made gnar a complete bitch that wins lane against literally everything.

whelp, op is right.

riot said themselves, that resourceless ranged champs are toxic, because of infinite poke/sustain. morello said they made a mistake with kennen, they said they made a mistake with vlad (health costs were neglectable with the health return he could aquire very early on). morde hgad the same problems when he was strong. he was incredibly overwhelming in lane with his constant e poke at range. they had to nerf both vlad and morde basically out of existence to deal with them. kennen aswell.

and then they relased another one of these clusterfucks.

Wasn't this the champ that was called Trash on release, and a 'how to gnar' post was made to help people figure out how to play Gnar?

Woooord I STILL can't figure out how the hell to use him. Laning is just playing passive and poking with damage. If you see a Gnar go ranged top lane

his melee form is pushed on so much steroids and loaded with so much cc, that you win against any champ in a direct fight. maybe even 1v2.

his lane pattern is being an anoying fuck with constant boomerang spam, until his transformation triggers. at which point he goes all in and takes a shit on you.

the original intent was to force him to put himself at risk now and then and go into melee by forcing hios transformation. so he doesnt turn out like kennen or vlad who just stay passive with constant poke spam. only that they put so much power in his transformation, that its actually not a weakness.

i still dont understand why he gets to keep the hp from his transformation when he morphs back. they should have made it a temporary shield instead. this part of his passive alone screams unlimited sustain. he gains 500 hp back upon every transformation. so even if he doesnt just lifesteal back up, he heals enough to be safe.

I dunno, but IMO I'm really bad at him. I can't get over forced forced transformations.

Only idiots were saying that. Barring a few bugs he was LCS ready.
