Question for Diana mains.

I've tried playing her and it just doesn't click for me. Can you explain how to counter her in lane and after she gets first item with AP mid?

Even when I keep her down to 60 CS@15 after her first major buy she still runs around the map one-shotting.

Last game on Malz hit 6 before her, my lost chapter and seal vs her dorans and lost chapter. Went in with spell shield up to absorb her Q and figured I had her with full WQER combo only to see her health only go down by 20% and turn around and obliterate me in 2 seconds even without ult.

I would appreciate some tips. I can play most mid mages but prefer Zoe, Lux, Annie, Malz, Zyra.

You again. First off, I have no clue why you'd ever play zoe over Lux. It repulses me. Lux is infinitely more useful than zoe. I can't even bring myself to capitalize her name. Okay, now on to the real question. I'm not a Diana main, but I do know a fool proof method of countering her in lane, but it involves some planning and some ingenuity. So first, while in champ select, you need to decide what you're gonna play. After you've decided, go ahead and hover that champion so the rest of your team knows. Now here comes the secret part.

######The game lets you ban a champion, so at this point, you should ban Diana because I honestly have no clue how to counter her. I'm just a lowly support player.

Zoe is better than lux. Sorry that your favourite champ isn't as good as another. );

lol wat. she's useless compared to Lux. She's old nidalee rebranded. Lux actually brings things to a team, zoe just spams Q's hoping to get lucky and hit someone. I do agree with you though, my favorite champion isn't as good as another. That's because she's better than all the others. ;)

No need to compare them. We all know who Ezreal chose xD but poor Zoe I like her, she's a poor rejected baby

Yeah, but Ez is a player and Lux doesn't want that. She's way too good for him. Zoe can have him.

Zoe is literal shit. Her sleep is really easy to dodge, whereas lux q AND e can go through minions. Lux has a shield for her team mates. Lux has a rather large aoe slow that does tons of damage. Lux ult does hella damage and can steal objectives. A great zoe is very very immpressive, but anything below that is basically all luck

I dont really think that there should be a comparison between the two. Lux is a more traditional mage due to the fact that she is a backline damage dealer with long range. Zoe is a fucking annoying piece of shit who has access to rng that could completely fuck up her enemy (getting ignite vs vlad/lucky barrier/heal vs assassin), has a very long ranged cc ability and can take out champions with extreme safety due to the fact that her ult returns to her original position no matter what you do to her. I fucking hate Zoe so much.

I really like your comparisons here :D

Not much counterplay but she is kind of short ranged I guess??? So you might be able to stay away from her.

Exhaust heimer tends to be what I take in a situation like that, getting an early haunting guise for the health and making sure to take null-orb in sorc and stopwatch to stop her all in at six. Should be able to get good lane pressure and maybe make her back once or twice so she falls behind early.

I max w if I can harass a lot and just use turrets to control minions

and use the ms you get from turrets to dodge her q.

I don't think you can really compare her to Annie, lux, or malz. She's an assassin. She goes balls to the wall, rushes the adc or mid down and beats the shit out of them. I don't play her, but I'm pretty sure her entire powerspike lies within her hitting 6 and getting her first item. Once she hits 6 she can fuck over basically anyone, providing she didn't feed beforehand.

I know that poke is super great against her. She's squishy, and she can't shield unless she's either in your face or in a minion wave. Use your longer range to whittle her down and be sure to dodge her q's as they're the only ranged damage she has. If she misses them, she's losing mana and doing no damage to you, as well as taking her out of the trade for a bit because if she ults into you without landing q she's probably braindead.

Quick tip; always dodge her q towards the inside of the curve, because it's got a deceptive hitbox.

Hmm, exhaust is a good suggestion, would buy a couple of seconds to counter. I will try Heimer next time I get the counter pick. My gut tells me Taliyah would probably be a good choice as well however my positioning skills on her are.. less than desirable.

Sounds like I need to start respecting her kill threat on even a single small positioning mistake, even when she's low and/or behind and forget about the outplays. Not as much fun but I can certainly do that.

On bans, Fizz, Diana, Zed are the three matchups that I have the same issues with in lane. Zed I can at least force to stay in lane and deny him CS through save manipulation but the other two will start killing me under or even between towers once they get items so whichever feels most popular at the time gets my ban.

Thanks, I'll keep these in mind next time I see her across the river.

As for Lux a wise support mage once said 'too tall... far too tall!'

I just love how everyone collectively agreed not to press the reply button xd
