What if we used promo games as gatekeepers.

Riot did this when they introduced them, but now with DQ or as some people call it dynamic boost there may actually be a reason beyond just being frustrating.

What if you had to solo queue to complete your promo games. Perhaps you could still queue as DQ while in promo, but only your mmr and w/l would be affected but your rank wouldn't actually go up until you completed your promos solo. will this keep plats out of diamond? Maybe not but would probably keep bronze out of gold, gold out of diamond ect.

This does not solve the premade in game griefs but could be a step to a playable DQ.

that would help but it really wouldn't fix the issue at lower elos

even if you a solo player a got got carried to bronze 1 at 100 point even if you lose your promos 10 times, eventually RANDOMLY you will win, just becuase your teammates get the win without you. becuase every time you lose the promos your premade just carries you to 100 lp again.

it woudl also create the issue with people who solo que NOT wanting to get promoted because as soon as they are IN their promos they ACTUALLY have a somewhat fair game. and as soon as they get promoted they will have to face premades again.

so people would play for real until they got two win and intentionally not win so they dont get promoted

becuase i would rather be in bronze 5 and face solo players than be and my proper elo and have to face premades.

this is why ranked is meaningless
