Hextech Keys Should Be Changed

Hextech Keys are in a bad place imo for multiple reasons.

  1. They have an insanely irregular drop rate, it seems. It'll take me 20 wins to get a single fragment, whereas I see other people get one every other game.
  2. It takes 3 pieces of these very hard to get items just to make a single key.
  3. Due to this, I always have plenty more chests than I could possibly ever open.

I may just seem like a complainer, seeing as how I'm getting completely free skins and champions from this, but these are just some suggestions as to how to make the crafting system a little faster and feel more rewarding:

  1. Make it a key fragment every time you win, and possibly increase the amount of fragments needed to build a key, just to balance it out.
  2. Maybe remove the key pieces altogether, since the drop rate is so bad, so that when you finally do get one, it'll be a full key and then the randomness won't be as annoying.
  3. Increase the drop rate a little?
  4. Profit?
  5. Just kidding about number 4.

What do you guys think? I know I can't be the only one who gets irritated by this system. Especially when I finally get a key after 1000 games and then it gives me Armor of the Fifth Age Taric skin fragment :P

it should just be a key that drops. from what iv heard the more key frags you get the rarer they drop. thats why theres a "buy keys and chests NOW" button in the hextech menu. it seems riot want you to buy hextech items, big surprise aye?

I wish when you get an s for a champ that you already got a chest for you'd get either a key fragment or a full key.

I agree that the fragments are too hard to obtain after you get the first ones. At this moment i'm at 3 boxes (opened two) and 2 key fragments.

I do not know often they drop but the chance seems to be way too small for everyone who have a job, attends school or do something else than playing League. I think it is at least 20 games since i got my last key fragment. But let's go with 20 games at 45 min including champ select and queqe (which i think is a bit low, especially in ranked)

45*20=900 min 18000/60=15 hr for each key

This is 45 hours a week just to get 1 key... This is more than a full time job in Denmark (37 hours)... 45 hours is more than 2 entire days.

And here is the BOMBSHELL. This is wins... lets assume a 50% winrate. This gives 90 hours... which is more than 4 entire days.

a week is 168 hr you sleep 8 hr a day =56 hr you work or go to school 37 hr you play league 90 hr

This leaves you with -15 hr to get ready for work or cook your dinner. Math never lies!

With leagues playerbase, Hextech crafting will soon become the number 1 healt issue because there will be no time for sleep, excercise or living healthy.

OK, OK, it resets every month so this is not true, however i would like to now the actual numbers behind the system. I personally think they should increase the dropchance in the late month with at least 100%.

The system also seems to be very unfair the the unlucky guys outthere. Today my brother got 5 keys in a row. My other brother got 1 and i got none. We did'nt play the same number of games so we cant compare this directly, BUT 5 keys in a row? My idea is that they need to implement a solution that says "you'll get 1 key fragment at least every X wins". We dont need to know the number as long as we think it's luck.
