Tribunal Spys?

Did you guys (RIOT) ever think about "knighting" a few players to act as a sort of Tribunal Spy? I feel like if there were players who were also a part of the tribunal, whenever one of these spies plays with a toxic player, they can report back directly to RIOT with evidence of their rule breaking or possibly even have the power to directly punish these players with small time bans. I think it would be a good idea because it would:

  1. Scare negative players into behaving in games, any player could be a spy. (Or players who are spies could have a special badge [Like the honor badges] in the loading screen)
  2. Allow players who disregard the summoner's code to be punished accordingly, more often and more efficiently, than with simple reports which seem to carry no weight. (I can't remember the last time a player who was being a jerk cared when I said I was going to report them)
  3. Improve the community overall, seeing as how currently, In low ELO at least, I have at least one negative or rude player in each of my games.

I thought of this when I was playing a game as Maokai and i had an insanely toxic Viktor and Amumu on my team, who were calling everyone "down syndrome kids", "retards", autistic, gay, just about any rude thing you could think of. It really boiled my blood that somebody could poke fun at such serious diseases, and use such terms and not care about the one they're offending. It's ridiculous that these humans even exist :P Please take my idea into consideration and let me know what you guys think of it. If we bring enough attention to this, Riot may comment here. That would be great. (Btw, i'm sorry if this post offends anyone by the words I used above. It also may be against board rules, i'm not sure. I guess I'll find out if it gets removed)

It could be a good idea - but it could fail/be abused under the wrong conditions. It would need to run something like this:

  1. It works just like a normal report but, goes directly to Riot for moderation at a high level of priority.
  2. Only players with a low ratio of games played vs. games they've been reported after (i.e. these players would have to be friendly and not toxic).
  3. These players are not made aware that they are 'Tribunal Spies'. Otherwise there would be potential for players to abuse it.

Interesting idea. I feel like the actual problem you want to solve comes down to this:

Toxic players need to be punished quickly and efficiently.

The current perception is that reports don't have enough effect. Negative players say they don't care when you report them and you feel like simple reports carry no weight. Tribunal spies would be one way to give you the feeling that action is taken quickly. However, I do want to bring up a few downsides.

  1. The power of the current reports is that they are based on the entire community. When you get punished, you know that you have been consistently reported by regular players. Not one knight decides what is acceptable or not, but everyone you are playing with.
  2. It is really hard to judge someone by one game. Even the most positive players can have a bad game.
  3. You need a lot of spies to make a difference. Most games they play won't have banworthy players.

Currently your reports get a higher weight if you are accurate with your reporting. You could see those people as mini Tribunal spies. Riot needs to do a better job showing what reports do. They should convince the playerbase that reporting does matter and that toxic people will inevitably get punished. Posts like yours are great for reminding them how important that is.

Its people like you that make me sick of this game. People who stand on a pedestal because they now have the option to report others and then feel high and mighty when they do. Fuckin cookie cutter mold of this squeeky clean image corporate wants you to be like. Sure they were toxic but I bet you reveled in the fact that they were in a flame war just so you can feel superior at your now given position of power to report these fools. Did it once cross your mind to mute them? No, because you actually enjoy reporting people, like if youre some sort of neighborhood crime watch.

It's the internet. Grow up and build a thicker skin because it's literally just a word used in the context for which it wasn't meant. Which is literally a majority of what people do on the internet/
