I wrote this :http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/ch4wBE2E-a-clear-feedback-with-questions-to-the-rioter-who-balance-soraka If you don't want to read its fine. Riot also don't want to and i will sumarize everything. Edit: I'm a soraka player with 700K mastery points with her, that hit master tier in brazil multiple times playing only her and am sad with her state and current theme.

TL, DR:[from inside the link]: Soraka is slowing turning in to something she is not meant to be.

Add iteration, high risk mechanics that creates distinction between good and bad Soraka players, make her lane phase less frustrating to her enemies with opportunity to them read Soraka and more late game potential.

If this is not clear just read and make the changes below. As a passionate Soraka player that played her for years i think i can give a good glimpse of what Soraka can be:

Q- Starcall Smaller changes:

  1. Have way longer cooldown [punish bad sorakas and add possibility of outplay by flash etc]
  2. Lower Damage [this skills is not meant to be decisive on landing or being a "safe way of harass that also heal alot with low cooldown"]
  3. Don't slow anymore
  4. Still activates rejuvenation
  5. Give a meaningful movement speed buff for her [reward for landing a high cooldown starcall adding possibility to follow up and better positioning]
  6. Scales bad with AP but have higher base damage [we don't want Soraka as a mid laner and we want her to move forward during lane phase]
  7. Creates an area around the target that gives a small movement speed bonus to all soraka's allies inside of it for a few seconds [this area is around the target hit by her starcall, not her and benefit Soraka's allies including her].

Major changes: If lands on an enemy, "Starcall" changes and can be used again two more times immediately on the next few seconds with a few different effects and lower damage. The main modifications on this state are:

  1. Starcall turns in to a more precise skill shoot with lower area [so you need to go nearby to hit better].
  2. This version of Starcall if landed activate 2 effects: 2.1. Refreshes AND Stacks the Rejuvenation bonus to a maximum of one more time [landing 2 starcalls don't stack more than once]. **2.2. Landing this Starcall on an enemy inside equinox will heavily slow him, and using equinox on an enemy hit by Starcall will heavily slow him. **
  3. Landing starcall thrice in someone will heavily slow the target.

** Passive changes:** Rejuvenation: Scales better with AP. If stacked 2 times increase Soraka Heals by X% for the duration of it.

E-Equinox 1- Less damage, lower cooldown.

Why are those modifications good?

  1. Starcall modifications make laning against Soraka way interesting and offer a lot of other benefits. 1.1. Because Starcall have a way longer cooldown she can't rely on rejuvenation to randomly heal her each 4 seconds by randomly using it, making the net damage on Soraka higher, punishing bad uses of Starcall and rewarding players that avoid it. 1.2. Because Starcall now don't slow, being hit by the first one it is not that bad as a nami bubble and allow you to attack back if you want to or just retreat. 1.3. Soraka now have a distinct power window: Avoid getting hit by 2 Starcalls in sequence, now you need to be aware she can be very strong and agressive if she outplays you by landing a combo [kind like how brand/velkoz work], but also [in the same way] you can be confident you can outplay her by disrupting her little combo . 1.4. Because Starcall turns less and less effective as you are far from where you are trying to land it, Soraka needs to move forward to be able to have more chances on hitting, what creates a high risk pattern naturally. 1.5. By being hit by 2 Starcalls in sequence Soraka not only is now regenerating more life [what happens over time, so she can still be exploded] but also she may slow and bind you with her equinox. 1.6. By being hit by Starcalls you have now an area around you that benefit soraka's allies. This means that if you are a renekton trying to chase her Vayne, she will have some movement speed bonus against you. This is an extra way Soraka have to peel off her friends and help them to escape as well to engage making Starcall overall a better skill. 1.7. Surviving her full combo [maybe by her choosing the wrong target] would almost empty her mana pool, leading to a possible good come back after.
  2. Having Equinox having less damage and a lower cooldown adds more utility to Soraka on long team fights.

Those changes are aiming to make Soraka feel more like the high risk main healing support of the game she was meant to be. Good iterations, clear window of power, high rewards and outplay potential for both sides, a more difficult character for bad players but a good option for dedicated...

In the end, I really feel that Soraka today is far from what she deserved to be.

A Soraka that dare to fight odds, that accept all of her risks [not building warmog for example], avoiding skill shoots like crazy to continue healing with just a hair of life is what we actually want to see. Is the badass Soraka that if you lose to you can actually say: "wow, that player played really well.", instead of "this champion is not fun / is broken".

Please Riot, give attention.Soraka We really love this champion.

Really want these changes. Soraka is pretty much the only mage support I play.

Nothing i said is a buff, those are reworks and tweeks. And just to make it clear those are parts of what i wrote: Starcall:

  1. Have way longer cooldown
  2. Lower Damage
  3. Don't slow anymore
  4. Scales bad with AP

Equinox: 1- Less damage

To start with, warmog is actually a very bad choice of itemization [by any math] that can only be made in games you are already winning. People that builds it, builds because they don't know the champion to it's fullest extension and they win because they would win building anything on those games.

What do you mean? Only winning? I build warmogs with her every single game and build her tanky

any sort of improvement to a champ is a buff.

You clear don't understand how reworking works or the objective in it. Is about improving the overall feeling of the champion and addressing issues not plain buffing on every case.

to me. if it helps the champ win for the player, its a buff. dont care what others say.

Just because it helps win for the player does not mean its a buff it could just mean that you can have a better chance at winning for playing at a higher skill level like what he is trying to get across. Players should have a better chance of winning on ANY champ by playing them at a higher level however champions like soraka which you honestly just have to have good positioning and good reflexes theres very little room to demonstrate actually being skilled at playing her, but by placing in ''improvements'' if dont correctly could actually make soraka be a champ that you can tell when someones actually a strong soraka player over o well if i just press the W button im doing 90% of my job and look like every other soraka.

no. that helps the champ so it is a buff.
