Games will be the same length, but with a shorter mid-late game and longer laning phase

The only thing changing is how long thev'laning' phase is, which is determined by how long the first tower lives, which is being extended. By which point I feel the game would progress through mid and late at a much faster pace.

The drake, baron, and elder dragon spawn times have all been decreased, and gold in lanes will increase, as they said they will be increasing the cannon spawn rate.

Now I am not saying that the game will have a shorter mid and late game because the early game is longer, I'm saying that the overall time of the games will stay the same BECAUSE mid and late game will be shorter.

I'll be interested in seeing how late game champion picks become nearly obsolete and strong lane phase and early powerhouse champions become the meta. Not like late game scaling champions were already becoming obsolete.

I'm not sure how I like a longer laning phase with the sacrifice of mid and late game.

S9 meta, at least preseason, is going to be "Whatever champion can perma-shove the wave soonest and most efficiently."

Sivir, Malzahar, and Yorick come to mind. (Maybe there's something that can shove better than Yorick in top lane. My top lane knowledge is lacking.)

I'm not sure late-game champions will be obsolete because a lot of their laning phase is just perma-shoving the wave to prevent interaction in the early game as much as possible.
