Is Riot's Zero Tolerance Policy Fair?

Im still a bit miffed that I got chat restricted over calling my 3 teammates (the 4th one had ragequit so wasnt there) who where hardcore flaming me because I had accidently taken the wrong rune on my champion, idiots and morons. That's literally the only bad thing I said, and even when I made my appeal to Riot because I didn't think i should get punished for this, they admitted that was the only toxic things i said literally "u guys are idiots" & "u guys are morons" i said that because they where flaming me.

Riot's bot told me I was punished for being toxic and because i was "heavily reported", but the nuance was I was heavily reported because all 3 of my teammates, in the chat all admittedly said they were reporting me for trolling... because I had the wrong rune. They didn't think I was toxic, they just thought I was trolling and flame me because I shoudlve let them remake when I saw i had the wrong rune.

Yet I get chat restricted (and most importantly honor level 1) because I said 2 toxic thigns... but why? They where flaming me... and I only called them idiots... I don't think I've ever been chat restricted before? (I can't remember because I recall once I mightve been chat restricted? but i can't remember and I've ended every season honor level 5 so i dont think so) Ive never not gotten my rewards before, I've been playing since season 3 and I know everyone says this but I'm genuinely not toxic and I try to be nice to people. Someone could say way worse things at the beginning of season and then not gotten anymore punishments and be honor level 2+ at this time... but because it's end of season I have no time to get my honor level higher and I get screwed.

If you received a chat restriction then the system didn't escalate your punishment at all.

The "zero tolerance" policy refers to stuff like telling people to kill themselves, derogatory slurs, sexism/racism, or other extremely bad things. When hit by a punishment in these cases your punishment is escalated to a 14-day ban even if you had no punishment prior.

If you want people to comment on your logs specifically then you're going to need to post all the logs given to you for us to see.

bro just play how you want to play, and malicious shit talking isn't worth your time

If people aren't joking around or talking strategy then don't respond, if they don't like your build I'll bet they're doing something wrong in their build on scrutiny so like... fuck it look at the enemy build and only look at team build to see if you need to add anything to your build (like grevious or a slow or something)

trust me you'll like the game more that way

ok receiving that means you have a lot of chat activity. big whup. riot is content with their reputation of punishing shit-talkers more so than actual inters and toxic goons since they have chat log proof. it is extremely easy to disguise feeding as "having a bad game" from the words of some nameless rude dude I once met on the PB forum here. don't be discouraged, learn to simply mute them. it worked wonders for me.

a year or so ago I typed the abreviation(its three letters you can infer what it is.) "Kay Why Ess" TWICE in a game vs a 5 man and I got a 14 day suspension, when appealing they highlighted those 2 lines saying that was against policy.

yeah this system is pretty trashy but we'll have to get used to it. the best we could do is try to forget it and not become one of the many people who keep being toxic and get banned forever. ranked is full of these, and while it may be difficult to try and form a new mentality since you would constantly run into people who go around handing out bad times because they went through the same bullshit you did, the mute button still exists as riot's paltry band-aid fix against your diminishing patience.

just play the game I guess, league has a format but no specific rules so don't let your team force you into a mold. just mute and play ya best.

IMPORTANT: **you wont lose your end of season ranked rewards if you don't get anything more serious than a 14-day suspension. you just have to reach Honor 2 before Preseason ends **
