Who is a true counter to annie?
Annie to me just seems ridiculously broken. Her bears movement speed, attack speed, her cooldowns, mana management, base damage
All she really has to do is get a few mag pen runes and just flash ult combo anyone

Fizz or Vlad could probably bait out her stun in a 1v1 scenario, Morgana has the range of Vel'koz with a strong shield if she builds into it too. She's an obnoxious champion to deal with, make no mistake :P
Vel'Koz vs Annie is about winning the lane pre-6, as for Yasuo, If the Yasuo can't net an early kill on her to build pressure the lane will most definitely be hard, as the windwall will not block the Annie W or R.

Champions that outrange Annie are what counters her as they can easily poke her back to lane, or poke her to death.
- These two champions are the bane of any Annie mains. They have the range to poke her out of lane or even kill her so she gets behind easily.
- These champions are also good champions against Annie but are more manageable than those two above. Cass is very annoying due to her Miasma and destroys Annie's only mobility (
) Azir is very hard but he was nerfed to the point of being very weak. Orianna's one of the safest mid laner so it's really hard to kill her with her range and shield. Taliyah is very strong in the early game with a very deadly level 3 spike.
- Kassadin screws Annie post 6. Because he is a really anti-mage and can survive Annie's burst bc of his kit and the items that he builds.
And also, play defensive, stacking some defensive items is very useful against her.
Annie is also flash reliant. That's her only RELIABLE engage/escape tool. Protobelt is also nice but it's a bit more clunky. If Annie burns her flash, abuse those time because she would need her teammates' help to engage for her.
Xerath and Syndra - take cleanse if you need to.
Most satisfying feeling is killing Annie WITH Tibbers (I love Syndra's W)

Remember to take scaling HP/MR rune setup and pay attention to her shield.
And dont say ADCs, Tanks and Fighters cant go mid against Mages cuz they can.
I'm pretty sure Ziggs counters her. She has no range.
Vel'Koz out ranges her by quite a bit, if you know how to play him, it can be a strong counter. Assassins if played right work well too, as Annie has no movement abilities
Aggressively Q trade against her pre-6 when her stun is not up (out-trades hard). Can poke her over and over again with Death Ray.
Hex 1 into Banshees with strong poking, kiting and wave clear at level 6 and beyond. Always get boots first so you can kite harder.
If you get caught... place Gravity Field and Chaos Storm on her (she will get hit because she's busy combo-ing you). And then run/Flash back.
