Shen as a Fighter

Shen This is more of an opinion, but I don't feel like Shen is a good duelist compared to other fighters. His Q is an excellent poke, but is that all he's good for in terms of combat? I ask because while I play Shen, i'm not sure. The Fighter meta in Twisted Treeline is what made me ask this question, as I don't believe Shen is a good pick in that mode. So I ask to the community: Is Shen a capable Fighter? Or is he better off as a full tank? I have only been able to succeed as Shen with all-tank items, and I'm really curious to see what he can do as a Fighter. Mayhaps he could be better than Irelia, or he is doomed to be a true tank.

If you load Shen up with enough attack speed he's an excellent dualist, you can go 9/21/0 for masteries taking points in attack speed and AD. Runes go with attack speed marks and quins, armor seals, and magic resist glphys. As for itemization rush item 3068 per the usual then go for item 3111 and item 3078 , follow up with item 3153 , item 3143 and item 3091 . You should be able to proc your passive very often and maintain full energy at all times.

I have built him as a fighter before but that's just item 3078 then tank or item 3153 then tank as he is more bruiser than fighter. built as a ap tank ( item 3116, item 3157, item 3001, item 3065 item 3143, item 3158 /item 3047 ) he gets great damage and can tank a great amount.

I have a for fun rune page of just cdr so i start with 20% and i can by level 3 usually force my opponent out of lane with his Q and E.

HERE IS MY IDEA FOR A REWORK:

Passive- Ki Strike [Unchanged] but in addition shen takes 10% reduced total damage from critical strikes. Restores 10/20/30 Energy.

[Q] Vorpal Blade- Cost 65 energy. Deals 65/105 /145 /185 /225 +65% AP scaling. (Range increased to 500 from 475). Healing values untouched. If shen dashes to a target marked with Vorpal Blade the cooldown of shadow dash is reduced by 2 seconds .

[W] Feint- Cost 40 energy. Absorbs 60/100/140/180/220 +40% AP scaling and 1/2/3/4/5 every 5% health missing. (Basic attacks on shield reduce the attacker's attack speed by 5% for 3 seconds). Shen is able to use Crescent Slash within a time period of 3 seconds after the shield has been broken.

[W] Crescent Slash- Cost 25 energy. Shen takes a small jump of 100 units away from target direction swiftly swinging his sword in a counter strike motion, the blade projects purple energy in a 115 degree cone with a range of 350. Dealing 50% of the broken shield as magic damage, slightly knocking back and slowing enemies hit by 25% for 1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. Damaging a target marked with Vorpal Blade will consume the mark and cause them to bleed hp equivalent to the heal on Shen's Vorpal Blade.

[E] Shadow Dash- Cost 120/115/110/105/100 energy. Deals 20/40/60/80/100 +100% AP scaling as true damage. Shen is healed for 10% of the damage dealt per target hit. (Hitbox Increased). Taunt duration increased to 1.75 seconds from 1.50 seconds. Enemies taunted still deal 50% less damage to shen but shen now only restores 20 energy upon enemy hit.

[R] Stand United- Unchanged [No complaints there!] But as an idea shen can teleport one ally to target location once they stand withing the teleport radius and right-click on shen while he is channeling. Shen can now cancel the teleport by recasting R. No Cost. Cooldown Unchanged.

Riot I guarantee if you make these changes, people who love to play shen will never complain again, i'm sure you can take my idea and balance it out. You will notice that shen will still have energy problems with this set up, which are massive early game and will only be able to do one full rotation under the circumstance. Giving shen this counter damage ability allows him hold unto his E for more important circumstances like securing a kill, keeping enemies of allies or escaping. It takes to much to play this ninja and you rarely come out on top, this extra damage will benefit shen while waveclearing minions and combating in lane see as every champ he is picked against has an ult that will help him in lane so no matter how good he is doing, he falls off when they hit lvl 6, the change to W will change that while making the damage more situational and shen more interesting and difficult, Zed has a W that can be cast twice and in coordination with all other abilities, that also increase their damage, why can't shen? The shadows gave Zed power, that doesn't meant that the fighting style he learnt from shen's father has withered.

sincerely, another Shen player Shen

I think Shen often NEEDS some extra 'oomph' in his build, since your only CC is on such a long cooldown. You need to be able to do something while you wait for it to come back up.

The problem with shen is that he got to much potential power locked in his global ult. Pre lvl 6, i can dominate nearly any matchup, but post 6 other champs have a ult that helps them to duel, while shen doesn'T. He also got a rathre lackluster basekit in terms of scaleing and powerlvl, cause his ult offers so much potential that a stronger base-kit could easily make him op. Same problem with TF.

The idea of shen is to be unkillable but ive seen borks and even a statikk shiv on shen and it works
