A Large Bundle of Quality of Life Requests
So there's a large amount of these that just kept adding up as I kept thinking about them and I'll try to categorize them by type and divulge from there.
Mechanics on channels: 1 - I first noticed this with repeated uses on Sion. When using his Q you have the ability to freely activate your W, however other actives like potions are not permitted which I find unreasonable.
2 - When backing certain actives are allowed to be used and some are not. One of them works inconsistently and that's warding. You are permitted to use the blue trinket while backing, but a use of the normal yellow trinket will stop your back and make you start it over again. There was also a change this patch which prevented the ability to activate your W while backing and I was wondering if that change was intentional.
Mechanics on ability use: 1 - Within the past year a setting was added so that when you use smartcast with indicators if you press an ability then press another, it will automatically activate the first ability. The change I want is so that if an ability is used just outside of its range and a new ability is pressed, it activates the previous ability at the furthest possible range rather than not at all. This happens to me to a decent extent when quickly trying to stun using a Q-E combo on Syndra and my stun will be wasted just because the Q did not fire just outside of its maximum range.
2 - There are currently three different ways to target your abilities: Picking a direction on your screen, picking a direction on the minimap, or hovering over an ally's champion icon. Personally I hate the second two, and they only cause me trouble. I want to be able to turn off the minimap targeting completely to prevent any random changes of direction when playing on the left side of the map and targeting right. For hovering over allies, I completely believe this should only be for supportive types of abilities, like heals and shields and nothing else. I know I am not the only person with this problem, since we have all seen a few LCS players shoot abilities in the complete opposite direction and I'm pretty sure this is a major cause of it.
Mechanics on warding/vision: I sincerely believe the ward counter should not be placed on an overall counter anymore and rather be put on the items themselves. What I mean by this is to go back to the Season 3 style of warding, and make sightstone have a cap in the number of wards it can place. This way a support player can run a ward-heavy style of supporting and leave vision denial more towards their teammates. The main change would look like this:
Keep everything the same and have the trinket wards off the counter. The highest possible number of wards a single person could have would be 6. Sightstone would place 3 and a double stacked trinket at lvl 18 could place two and have another stack ready 30 seconds before the first ward dies.
Other changes may reduce the stacks sightstone may hold, but allow more more wards on the field. So that a sightstone may only hold two wards but you may have the ability to have 4 on the ground plus any trinket wards. This will help roaming supports more along with the mobility boots buff and the homeguards at 20 will enable much more vision ONLY if the player works towards it.
