You guys are soft, or too needy. Normal Draft should be removed.

The queue time will be incredibly shorter for both blind and ranked since players are being filtered into two game modes instead of three. I don't know about you, but the faster I get into games, the happier I would be. Especially because a lot of days I play league, I cant even play that long. So even from a competitive or casual standpoint, what is there to lose? I tried normal a couple times but even then im not guaranteed my champion, and it takes so long compared to blind to get into a game where I just abandoned it. So now we remove one queue and make the other two faster and people are complaining about it especially with the long wait times for ranked? What's the argument of keeping it in then?

"I don't want to risk LP"

what does LP mean to you if you never play ranked? I don't get why you can't just play Ranked instead and not care about LP. Worse case scenario, you're playing with people at your skill level. Wow, big deal right? Maybe you just wanted to warm-up and get a game in? Well, there's also a 3v3 mode where you can definitely play your champ, or you could just play blind. Playing different roles makes you a better player in the long run. You don't get to play who you want all the time 100% of the time so you complain...?

"I can't choose my champion."

You know how many games i've played in Ranked or normal where i'm forced to play my secondary role? Whatever queue you play there's still a probability of you not getting your role.

"Blind is cancerous, people fighting, people demanding roles, instalocking, blah blah blah blah"

What...? Really now? I've ran into a-holes in ranked and in blind/normal. It's not like all of a sudden the community gets nicer in normal draft. Out of the majority of blind games, are you really going to say 90% of them you run into are instalockers and dodgers? Cmon now, be realistic. I've been playing for months now, the majority of blind games I go into I hardly run into these problems to the point where it becomes even slightly unplayable or problematic, you guys are over-exaggerating to the extreme. The majority of the games I play on league are Blind pick games. Now with the queues being faster even if someone dodges you'll get put into a game in an instant, even if the other person wasted 20 or 30 seconds to dodge, that's still faster then setting up a normal draft game and what if someone dodged in the normal draft? An even longer waiting period. You're just as likely to run into someone wanting to ruin the experience for others in normal draft. I've been trolled in ranked as well, so that's no exception either. No queue is a perfect world.

Let's face it, Normal Draft is just Ranked mode without the magical LP numbers. Why are you guys so afraid? Especially if you play casually it shouldn't mean that much to you. Getting put into games(especially ranked games) much faster is more important then keeping this redundant game mode. You are excessively needy if you feel the need to keep this game mode.

So what do the people who like the picks and ban phase do if they don't want to play ranked? Play ranked anyway? Nice plan.

Blind pick has been the redundant mode for years. It is the one that truly needs replaced.

Well you are wrong. I respect other peoples opinions, but yours is wrong, your information is wrong, and so is your basis.

Filtering into 3 queues? Wth does that even mean... The people who want to play Ranked will play Ranked and the people who want to play Normals will play Normals, neither is effected by the other.

Draft Pick is not just Ranked without LP, it has an entirely different meta, different champions are viable. You see a way wider variety of champions than you do in Ranked, you also get the opportunity to practice different champions you don't know that well. Also I don't want to lose LP because some dickhead wants to first try Orianna or something in Ranked.

The main draw of Draft Pick was that it had role preference and bans, just like Ranked. It offered you a practice mode to test out builds and champions in a somewhat competitive place. Blind Pick is mostly just trolls, like I have yet to play a game in Blind that doesn't have at least one troll. They don't get their role, they steal roles, they ignore roles, etc. They just don't care because there is no structure to it. It is by far the worst of the game modes, basically offering nothing that Draft doesn't already offer but better.

Most of the long queue times in Ranked is because of Dynamic Queue and Season 6 in general. A lot of Solo players quit and its hard to match up premades with other premades or solos who are at the same MMR, against a team at similar MMR most likely also made up of premades and solos. That is going to take a bit of time, with Solo/Duo Queue coming back the queue times will most likely revert back to before DQ. Flex Queue might be fucked up for awhile, but thats a risk most people are willing to take i wager.

edit: As for a simple argument, because you are clearly just ignoring any valid arguments, all i can say is this: Sometimes I don't want to play Ranked, I get tired of seeing the same champions, I get tired of only playing certain champions. However Blind Pick is terrible, literally would rather just get off than play Blind Pick. So there you have it, sometimes I don't want to play Ranked and Blind Pick is so terrible I'd rather stop playing.

I'd rather not play support every game because I load in slower than others in blind, thanks.

  1. I have a completely different mindset between ranked games and normals. If I'm in ranked, the win is all that matters. I only play roles and champions I am comfortable with and can expect to win with. In normals I will play w/e I think is fun, no matter how gimmicky, no matter how bad. I still try to win, but sometimes I want to play janky shit like attack speed Braum jungle or adc Ahri. These picks are not very good and don't do very well from behind, but they are fun when even/ahead. That shit won't fly in ranked, and I would never pick them there.

  2. Sure I might not be able to guarantee my champion in draft, but at least there I can pick the roles I want to play. The last time I played blinds I was playing support upwards of 70% of my games. While I do enjoy supporting, I don't like playing it Every Single Game. I like playing a variety of shit, not the same thing every damn time.

  3. In my experience, which is entirely subjective, blind pick games have more cancer/rage/afk/etc than ranked does which has more than draft does. No queue is perfect, but draft is lax enough that people won't rage at every little thing somebody else does wrong AND it is structured enough to get people to play out every role so you don't get 2 people locked in saying they called jungle first. Again, that is my experience of things and may not be entirely accurate.

  4. As for queue times, for my own personal selfishness I couldn't give a fuck. I personally would rather wait the extra time and have both draft and ranked queues exist than have shorter times and lose one of them. I was actually one of the players that utilized teambuilder up until it was removed. I sat in several 30 minute queues in that mode just waiting for a team to play. I would usually queue up and start watching tv or scroll around various forums or hop on youtube in the interim. I still miss teambuilder sometimes, there are times when I want to play 1 specific champion and don't want to play anyone else, and teambuilder was perfect for that as I wouldn't have to play a game out that I didn't get that champion for. I understand the desire to shorter queue times, but I feel that will be better accomplished by making supports more enjoyable to the general playerbase so that they are not noticeably the smallest group of players.

  5. Not having somewhere to practice and warm up is a big deal for a lot of players as well. Blind pick is not suitable to practice anything in. Mirror matches and a lack of bans ruins any chance of you gaining in sort of competitive level of experience in the queue. Unless you miraculously get a game where you aren't hard countered, the top 2-5 champs (as per your opinion) aren't picked, and there isn't a single mirror match (even across roles) then I would never count it as real practice. As for just hoping into ranked with champions fresh, I personally believe that you should not be allowed to first-time a champion in ranked. Even beyond that I would prefer a player to at least understand the champion's core mechanics before they pick them, but that isn't as easily measured.

Without normal draft, I won't be able to enjoy this game anymore. I won't be able to play new champions because I won't take them into ranked, and I won't ever play blinds again (smurfs aside). If Riot decides that normal draft isn't needed, then I'm out. Sure people say that all the time and not all of them follow through, but I fully doubt I will be able to keep playing this game without normals.

Normal draft is all I played this season after I got to gold for the rewards.

Sorry OP, I don't want any 1st time Azirs in my ranked games. Blind pick is the one that needs to go.

I have friends I like to play with, and would like to play draft with them, because I prefer it to blind.

But they suck and I don't want to play ranked with them.
