Click's Theories: Warwick and Jinx were a couple?
I might start up my channel again (LeagueJohn if you don't know it), starting to get back into the lore. I've been doing some catching up on the lore and i actually came up with an interesting theory. Were Jinx and Warwick a couple? If you read the Zaun story, I think warwick might be Wyn, and Jinx might be Kez. Now hear me out. I'll make a video about it, but i'll post down my thoughts first.
For this to make sense you need to have read at least the first 2 pages of "City of Iron and Glass"(main Zaun story). The main character Wyn, and his love interest Kez. They had a cute little kiddy relationship, but throughout the story a big theme riot kept shoving down our throats was them holding hands.
(skip the examples if u read it):
Kez reached to help Wyn up. He smiled and took her hand. “Thanks,” he said. “My pleasure,” she said, leaning in to be heard over the noise.
Wyn had beaten the worst of the dust and grime from his own threads, but he suddenly felt acutely scruffy next to Kez. “I’ve never ridden the Howl,” she said, still holding tight to his hand. “Have you?”
Literally the last scene ends with Wyn and Kez holding hands.
Wyn nodded, but didn’t mind. He was still holding Kez’s hand. A week of scrubbing seemed like a small price to pay. “Sure,” he said. “Sounds good.”
If you haven't read it, it's basically a story of 5 orphans going around the city messing with people of Piltover and just being a group of disorderly misfits. It ends with Wyn and Kez holding hands having to clean up some lady's house because they got themselves in some trouble. Anyway ----->
Why would Riot give us a story about 5 zaun orphans we have no idea about? Was it just to give us a sense of the culture of Zaun and Piltover? Yes, it did give us a good sense of the atmosphere of Zaun, but I don't think these orphans were chosen randomly. Now if you read a little bit, these group of kids were not goody too shoos. They were some kids from the streets, not the most law abiding group of kids out there especially in a place like Zaun. Now, we look at Warwick. What was Warwick before he turned into the big bad wolf? A gangster on the street right? Wouldn't be too far-fetched for Wyn to grow up to be a gangster, especially since he tried to turn his life around and become a good guy. You kind of got hints of that in the story that Wyn was a nice kid internally, but his friends made him do what they were doing. So, how does it make sense that warwick and wyn are the same person you ask? Well in warwicks story something very interesting was said:
a gangster who put down his blade and took up a new name to live a better life.
Now, it seems like a weak connection, but Wyn and Warwick both start with the letter "W." Why wouldnt he choose a name that begins with the same letter? I think when he retired from his thug life he switched his name to Warwick. And if you read the bio of warwick you realize that he has problems remembering his name, and this is why I think it is.
Warwick struggled to recall a single memory from his past... All he could see was blood. But then he heard a little girl screaming. Screaming something he couldn’t understand. It sounded like a name. He’d already forgotten his. He sensed that was for the best.
Pay attention to the memory of the girl in that quote too. Now, you didn't forget what I said about the hands right? After Warwick turns into the savage wolf, he starts getting fragments of his memories back. One line in his story says:
Sometimes, as he fed in dark alleys on stray gangers, the flash of knives would remind him of an old blade covered in blood. Blood passing from the blade to his hands. From his hands, to everything he touched. Sometimes, he remembered the girl again.
He remembers the girl again by touching things with his hands? HMMM, IT WAS PROBABLY HIS STRONG MEMORIES OF KEZ.
Now, let's look at Jinx. Her story hasn't been revealed yet, but what do we know her as so far? Jinx is also a wild criminal who likes to cause crime/steal and blow things up right? Her and Warwick seem like the perfect Bonny and Clyde couple if Jinx didn't look like she was 14 (even though she's older then Vi). I think Jinx also took up a new name, I think Jinx was one of the orphans; Kez. If you watched the Warwick special interactions Warwick says to Jinx,
"You were there." and, "I try to forget."
Why would he say these things? He says he tries to forget, he doesn't want the memories of Jinx anymore right? If you read the first-person story of Warwick, another interesting line was said. Warwick ran into a girl getting chased by thugs and a line says,
"There was another girl... I shake away the memories. I don’t want them."
Jinx may not be Kez, it just seemed like the perfect fit for now, but whoever Kez is was Warwick's love, and that's why this image of a girl is so powerful in all of his stories.
I rest my case.
EDIT: Leaving this here, I feel like this fits the story better, would make sense seeing a little girl cry after u commit a murder made u change ways and thats why he doesnt want the memory of it anymore:
Ok. You got me. You've piqued my interest. My theory is that Jinx witnessed gansta Warwick murder her father (likely the bearded man mentioned later in his bio). This would have been the catalyst that made Warwick want to change his ways. But you're theory could also work and has me greatly intrigued.
