(Can A Rioter Comment?) - Origin Of Poros (In-Depth Explanation)

About a month old post that ima post again since it gained no traction because some other lore events were being released. Also, i'm wondering if Riot has some lore attached to Poros as well.

Now, i was thinking about what lore-related topics i can discuss on my channel then I stumbled upon these white hairy marshmallows, and I saw that there was a lot of mystery behind these things and not a lot of discussions about it. I was too lazy to make the video, and im just going to write out my thoughts. I did some research and here's my theory on how Poros came to be lore-wise. Nothing is confirmed, but this is MY TAKE after looking at some evidence.

Basic concept: Poro's are pieces/remnants of the Iceborn's love in physical form. Any descendants of Iceborn also have the capability of creating a Poro because they have iceborn blood in them. When an iceborn dies, or sacrifices their humanity, their remaining humanity/love are created into poros.

The Explanation: Now, if you havent read it yet there's actually a small snippet from old lore journals about these Poros(i'll tl;dr it if you dont want to read it) Page 5/6: http://imgur.com/a/LLKGD#0

tl;dr: Basically Braum saves a kid and his parents from a collapsed roof, shortly thereafter he is met by a Poro with a mustache(the same one he saved in the trailer). Leorina, the chronicler writes about this whole event and follows Braum everywhere. The poro with the mustache leads Leorina and Braum to a secret oasis of dozens of Poros. The end.

Now, there's two pretty important lines we need to take from this to tie everything together

I could not help but ponder on the fact that of all the challenges he had faced, the thankful hearts of the Freljord people were something he could never overcome.

Much has been said and written about these rare creatures, but few have ever been seen. In fact, many modern scholars questioned their very existence and claimed they were nothing more than fantasy.

And it's confirmed that Poros are born out of love.

[Taken from Wiki]

Born out of love, blinded by glee Innocent, pure, magic and free, Faithful, trusting; often naïve, Soft, furry; their hearts hold a key.

But the question is, whose love? Anyones? How do they come to be?

Now we know the Iceborn were a prevalent race centuries ago before the War Of The Three Sisters . Now the only remaining confirmed Iceborn we know of is Lissandra. This could speak as to why Poros are considered rare creatures, and nothing "more than fantasy" as Lissandra spent centuries erasing the history of the Watchers, to the point where they are considered fairy tales in Freljord. Now, wouldnt that also make the Iceborn a fairy tail as well? Or better yet, a fantasy. So that part explains the dwindling number of Poros, because the Iceborn no longer exist in big numbers. So, you may be looking at me crazy asking where is the evidence of the connection between poros and Iceborn? Well, we do know of one more confirmed iceborn, Gregor, the iceborn viking in the Howling Abyss map. He says something very interesting:

An Iceborn never truly dies. Except... well, there are some exceptions... "

So is this exception he was alluding to being how the Iceborn can physically die, but still have their hearts manifested into these cute cuddly things? Not to mention Poros are speculated to be unkillable. With the fountain turret unable to kill them and a previous rioter said that

{quoted}

There's an unconfirmed rumor that Poros can not die (only split into multiple).

Another odd similarity they have to Iceborn huh? Now, if you really look at it, you can see a slight resemblance that the Poros have compared to the watchers. https://i.gyazo.com/1b11a70219dea406b7985413938b8cf4.png So, why would they take on the appearance of a watcher? We know that Iceborn were made from the magic of the Watchers, so it would make sense that these magical creatures would take on some semblance of a watcher since they are created using their very same magic but they aren't look-a-likes due to the human nature of Iceborn.

Now the last thing I want to explain is exactly when are Poros created? Is it just when Iceborn die? I say no, because Lissandra says something in one of her quotes:

We are the chosen, destined to receive the gifts of the Watchers. Our faith is tested by bitter cold and endless winter. A crucible that separates the worthy from the unworthy, purging doubt, and leaving purity behind.

Doesn't a Poro resemble the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Lissandra is describing? They are compassionate, pure, warm, and innocent. So I believe that IF this transformation is successful and if that Iceborn retained a strong enough love, the humanity and the love they once had is carried over into the creation of a Poro. The same can be said when an Iceborn dies, the leftover love/humanity they had will be manifested into the creation of a Poro. Now it makes sense that since Braum attracts the love of the Freljord people, that these Poros created from love of the Freljord people would embrace themselves with him.

The End.

tl;dr Love is the answer

                                                                                                               Side note

One line about the Poros say, "Soft, furry; their hearts hold a key." . A key huh? That's weird. Isn't there a locked gate in the howling abyss with a key slot in it? https://i.gyazo.com/04b720ebe8d75f4fae6322423c90d8b8.png

Maybe the Poros being born from iceborn can be the key into opening this gate that pictures a watcher. Hmm. Dunno.

It's simple, we shove a poro into the door. Boom, lore completed.
