Say what you will about Zoe or Neeko but they actually have to put themselves in harm's way to maximize their damage potential. Rather than snipe you from 2 1/2 screens away or get a simple snare off and then blast you into next year.
Lux has three skill shots she has to hit you with and a pretty limited mana supply. Also any MR shuts her down hard.
You litterally counter her by not running in a straight line.
Gonna have to disagree with you on this one. Aside from her ult having a crappy hitbox especially going over top river (doesn't hit where laser is, hits where it isn't) lux is a pretty fair and balanced champion and I'd much prefer fighting her than almost anyone else bc she's less obnoxious and broken. She has no escape, she's squishy, she does no damage when behind, if she misses q she just instantly dies against anyone with a brain. If average with the game she is required to walk up to auto range to proc her passive bc that is 1/3 to 1/2 of her damage. Yes, she is tough to play against if you feed her, and she doesn't need her passive dmg anymore bc she's supposed to be a hypercarry that's pretty simple to not feed. Try playing zed, w through her really predictable q every time and crap on her, you're welcome :)

Lux is literally the easiest champion to deal with in the whole game
Everything in her Kit is skillshots , even her shield lol

She is only annoying in lane , but even her E is hella easy to dodge if you got boots " even without " just run to Run Lux when she E , you know , it's a skill shot after all and it got nerfed

Excluding assassins (and a well played Sion/Olaf), she pretty much invalidates melees when played even semi competently. She's nearly auto-win on ARAM and 3v3, since there's barely any room to dodge her spells.
Her top tier spot on 3v3 is interesting, because the map is generally overrun by bruisers and melee carries, both of whom should have an easy time dealing with her, according to the boards.
She's at the top of every map's tier list for a reason. I mean, the numbers can't lie. I'm not specifically qq'ing, but I think Lux is a lot stronger than people give credit for.
