An Idea to encourage more warding in all elos

Dear Riot,

I am a platinum mid/jungle main smurfing in silver. In this elo I have noticed the no.1 problem players have is they don't ward, EVER. So I started asking around in game to see why these lower elo players don't like using wards and they mostly responded:

** "I'm trying to farm my core damage items, wards don't kill champions".**

Put simply, this is stupid. But I think by employing this solution you could cater to this ignorance.

My solution is, for every ward placed, have your champion gain +4 or +5 bonus AD or AP which would scale higher as the game goes on. THIS BONUS WOULD ONLY BE EXTENDED TO PLAYERS USING REAL WARDS, OR LEVEL 2 TRINKETS

Just as dragon and baron as well as blue and red buff give combat advantages, wards should as well. This will force players to start treating wards as what they really are, OBJECTIVES.

Such a small change wouldn't completely throw off the balance of the game, and it would encourage players to keep wards on the map at all times. This would also encourage players to deny the enemy vision to give themselves an advantage.

THIS BONUS WOULD ONLY BE EXTENDED TO PLAYERS USING REAL WARDS, OR LEVEL 2 TRINKETS

In many games where my team is losing, they think that is a reason to stop warding and to farm items, this of course is a bad idea. Adding a mechanic where wards give extra offensive stats if they are active would encourage players to start warding RELIGIOUSLY when they are losing. And it would also encourage the winning to to keep vision control in order to establish a lead.

More wards, more comebacks More wards, less throws

They tried with the warding trinkets. Stupid people will be stupid. Nothing can be done about it unless they give them free wards... oh wait, they already have.

With the level 1 warding trinket and various champions' kits, it isn't always necessary to keep wards down. E.g. if I'm bot Lane and can alternate warding river with the support, we have a pink in the tri-bush, and we're not pushing Lane.

This sort of change would just encourage people to place wards wherever, for example under their own turret to keep the damage boost (which every adc would do with a pink if pink wards granted the bonus).

I think the biggest thing with lower elo's not warding, which they won't admit, is that what's the point in warding when you have no map awareness and 80-90% of your teammates also have no map awareness? You're spending gold to get vision you're not going to use!

I mean, for myself, i drop a pink in the river every game. I use my trinket whenever it's off cooldown it seems, and often end up with the second most or third most wards on the map in the post-game screen (depends how much the two supports ward with sightstone). I rarely buy green wards, most games by the time i need vision for more than protecting myself against ganks I've already got my item slots rather used up and don't have space for them. I'm certain having extra wards down would help create catches on the enemy and safety for my team, but that's only if we notice when the enemy crosses them - something i don't believe my teammates will do and i know I'll miss if I'm preoccupied (i typically devote most attention to my Lane opponent and the rest to the gank paths against me and my allied jungler, I'd probably improve by looking elsewhere to but am not there yet).

I don't think that'll solve the problem. The one big thing with low ELO games is that people don't really realize that having vision on crucial areas on the map (e.g. baron, dragon) and vision of the enemy team allows for avoiding ganks, getting picks on people, finding ample opportunities to gank and turn the tides on enemy laners, counterjungling, and the list goes on. With the addition of the trinket and the upgraded trinket, riot has made warding easily accessible to the entire team. ESPECIALLY the greater stealth totem, it's a mini-sightstone for anyone who wants it at only 250 gold and doesn't even take up one of the 6 item slots. The typical mentality tends to be more "I'm going to win lane, get tons of kills, and carry", and less "I'm going to try and roam and make plays if I start getting fed, help my teammates get fed, and then group to secure objectives." at lower ELOs.

I like that you're trying to think of a way to encourage warding at lower ELO but if wards grant stats, they're not going to be used for the reason you want them to. People won't necessarily ward objectives and they may not even pay attention to the places they ward. They'll drop it somewhere solely for the stats and that alone.
