Promotion Series held hostage by trolls, remove series

I'm tried of that feeling of stress knowing that i will probably get a really bad team in promos, but the worst thing is that if you get a troll, or rager, your done.

2-2 in promos to platnium 5 from gold 1.

first 2 games are wins

next game has 2 afks on my side

next game I played poorly and lost

The next game is just fucking unfair, is here is why...

We are winning hard but my jungle isnt letting me have blues, me being wukong and our only source of CC, I take the 6th blue to get lower CDR on my ult in case one of us needs to disengage / engage. However our jungler who is feeding btw rages at me and says "ill get you back for this". I carry the game really hard and we push to nexus, but right before it dies he makes a surrender vote and EVERYONE ON MY TEAM accepts. Afterwards they all flame me saying "you shouldn't have taken blue, now you are losing your promos for it".

Riot this is fucking stupid. i carried that game fair and square, didn't even use that chat at all so you KNOW i didn't rage at anyone, but these trolls decide to ruin my game that I had 100% won by troll surrendering.The entire idea of promos is stupid to begin with, *if you repeatedly get to 100lp, you obviously deserve to move up the next rank, why the fuck do I have to play 3 games with lower MMR allies and higher MMR enemies to prove that? With the risk of trolls like the ones added on top of that

This is exactly why I have not bothered with ranked matches this season and only bothered minimally with last season. I played for placement to receive rewards and that was it. The current unchanging system of advancement does not measure a person's skill. Rather, it relies 100% on blind luck. Even if you have decent teammates, the order of champion selection countering previous selections can end the game in a cruel rock-paper-scissors dynamic before the game even begins.

Ranked matches for solo players are not fair. 5-man ranked is not practical for casual players. Unless you treat LoL like it is your profession, you see no semblance of balance.

The removal of the promo series is the best quick solution, because someone is lucky enough if they manage to reach 100 LP and displayed some skill. This will have people promoted quicker, but is that a bad thing? They will move up until they enter a league that is beyond them, and fluctuate between that one and the lower until they improve to the point they can securely continue their upward progress.

As is, I have 0 interest in ranked matches. Z.E.R.O.

I am tired of the AFKs.

I am tired of the disconnections.

I am tired of the skill gap between players.

I am tired.

I would much rather create a custom Hide n Seek match that earns no IP than play ranked, because at least I will have fun.

Ranked is just garbage, I don't play it anymore. It's not worth the stress of dealing with the scum of humanity.

I'd like to see an option for a promo-only queue, so that anyone who pulls this does themselves in as well.

Best part of promotion series is that you can't dodge games, not even if your team is already flaming in champions select, or you will automatically get a loss. That's kinda stupid...

I literally just had a problem where the first pick guy was encouraging trolling and chose to go Blitz top. I chose supp, and the next two people after me argued over Jungle, which they both insta-locked as Fiora and Udyr, and the last guy chose Zed mid, meaning I was solo lane Tank Leona bot against a proper Thresh supp and an adc. I was kinda forced into dodging myself due to them. And I'm in my promos, which I have 2 losses in now. I completely Agree. Riot needs to get rid of the promos. That is the only easy solution to this.

Not to sound all illuminati and what-not here but Riot does this so you keep playing the game... It's like gambling: they make you win just enough so you keep playing but if you were able to grind elo out in one day you'd stop playing the game.

It's all a ploy to get you to play league longer. That's why they added the tiers/ranks (and also this new champion experience system) and stopped using just MMR and ELO

The series design makes this game much less fun than it could be. It's that simple. It should be if you reach 100 LP you go up, if you reach 0 you go down. There would be more movement, which is not a bad thing, and things would just feel more fluid. Dropping wouldn't feel as bad because you know you can just keep playing and you'll go back up. If you get a troll or afk it's less stressful because you're not in a situation where if you lose your series you have to climb up all over again and then go through another unpleasant series just to get back to where you were.

Math dictates players that win more often than not will climb until their win rate hits a 50% average. Series do NOTHING to add to or improve that working mathematical model.

Well, I will say that the buffs are in the jungle and no laner is outright entitled to any of them. You can make your claims, but the jungle is the jungle and he's got the smite.

But honestly, in this situation, it doesn't really matter. You weren't some mid who can't manage mana, you were a guy being pragmatic and wanting that 10% cooldown to make good use of your cc (some junglers don't need blue late-game anyway, as a jungle main I can testify to this).

Your team were assholes, I'll give you that.

I find that somewhat hard to believe. He'd have to get the other two people on his side (assuming he was duoQ) which I don't see being easy unless you were being a dick about taking/not getting blues (Supported by you saying "who is feeding btw". Makes me think you weren't being exactly nice).

Trolls are too common and I agree that promotion series is too much pressure for what they do (moreso since you're matched against your MMR, not Division) but you getting 2 afks, then 4 trolls isn't believable by chance.

ranked favors number of games played more heavily than the "skill level of a player"

i might be gaining +29lp per win, have a colossal KDA and farm but it doesn't matter when top swain has 68CS 30mins into the game and the enemy top laner is a nasus, or when our bot lane duo'd and they were really bronze and they were significantly outmatched because they got placed with tougher opponents for duo queueing.

i cant do it alone, i admit that, some games you just have to lose, the only saving grace is that with a sheer number of games played the enemy team will eventually get those players and you can take advantage of them.

i recently hit s3, i will try to get gold and then thats it. i dont get why you people play ranked. it WOULD be nice, in an ideal world where the community was actually decent, but we are talking about league here, the worst community ever (and i mean it). i only play normals because they are fun, if i ever feel masochistic i will go ranked but thats about it. the system is stupid, your team is stupid, your enemies are better than you, you tilt, its not fun at all.

I want to play Ranked and climb to Gold or Plat which I am fairly confident I can do, but after barely experiencing Ranked I don't think It's worth it to climb out of Silver. People AFK, rage, flame, troll, etc and just have no respect for the game and Riot obviously hasn't shown they cared in any way.

What?........Wait WHAT!?!.....Can someone explain to me what just happened here?I thought people in Ranked only cared about winning,not the god damn blue buff.

But on another note,fuck Ranked.

I'm with you on this. Considering you only enter your promo off of a win this is requiring a very high win percentage in a game where 60% win rate should be considered good.

Wow, I never realized how bad ranked was. You see, I was about to start it at the beginning of summer, however for the past few months I've had panic attacks prior to starting games due to having been harassed so much back when I first started playing them, so nowadays I have to literally calm myself down from the constant shaking throughout my entire body before I even start normals matches. Therefore, I don't even consider ranked now. I'm glad I never actually tried ranked; This sounds both immensely irritating and completely and totally unfair. Thanks for the forewarning :).
