The concept of "support" as a "role" wasn't even a thing back when Blitzcrank was designed. He became a support because his kit is pretty much as valuable at 6k gold as it is at 12k gold.

Soraka, Janna and Zilean were released before Blitz as hard supports... Blitz is too weak as solo laner/ jungler, there is nowhere to go. And he is receiving nerf after nerf since release.

weak? blitz is among the best solo turret-laners besides maybe azir, but azir pushes lanes. if you hook them into your turret and stun thats at least 2 shots.

as for the nerfs, that's because trolls use his kit to breaks the game.

idk i dont want to see him deleted but maybe he should just ap stack when no allies are around and lose power in team fights.

blitz breaks dual-jungle meta. his hook goes through turrets & if he lands you die. is why glasscannons got camped, is why 2champ botlane became standard, is why supports are what they are today.

can i assume we all know what a jungler is? in case we cant, junglers roam the jungle rather than laning.
