Why do non-voters count for the surrender?

If I put up a surrender and 3 people say yes and 0 say no, it should surrender. If you don't want to cast a vote in a real life, you're not counted and that's that. Why do I have to stay in a game when 100% of the votes casted are for "surrender"?

Surrender starts out as a null option, meaning it has to be agreed on to happen.

3 of us agreed on it. If those 2 don't vote, they shouldn't count. They got the pop up, they have a minute, and they chose not to vote.

I don't think you understand what I said.

A surrender vote is saying "Should we surrender? Say yes to enact."

It's not saying "We are surrendering. Say no to disable."

Meaning the base value is "keep playing", and you have to implement a change of more then a simple majority to change that.

I get what you mean, I just don't think it's right, especially since 3 is a majority in a group of 5.

The 2 players are considered non-decision voters.

The game is a team game with that teams making up 5 each side. 2 people out of 5 is enough for a thought of no, yes or maybe.

A no vote means "maybe, we will see". So players will just watch and wait until the end to cast their vote, so that if they see a spark, anything during that vote they can and will disagree and try win the game.

To be honest though you won't learn how to properly play if you constantly vote to surrender. Shit, just yesterday we won a game we were behind close to 7k gold lead and with no towers except top tower and inhib. So yeah you can win a situation that seems dire, maybe you should try that instead of giving up?

Also why would they let 3 be enough for surrender?? That sounds so stupid, that means if you had a trio group you could surrender even when winning and fuck over your team/troll. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

I just think you should learn how to come back, if you keep this attitude you will never get good or even okay at the game. You will forever remain crap.

EDIT: i just looked through your game history, seems like giving up is your best strategy from the looks of things. You have a poor game then give up. Totally discounting everything you say from here out.

You need at least 70% of the players on your team to agree to a surrender.

If the vote is 3-0 with 2 abstaining, only 60% of the players on your team agreed to a surrender.

But 3/5 is majority. By this, you need 80%.

However, the surrender vote is not and never has been (AFAIK) decided by a majority vote.

For a surrender vote to pass, you need 70% or more of your team to **agree **to a surrender. Since they must agree to surrender for it to pass, players who abstain will count as declining the surrender vote. If you want examples:

  • 3/5 is 60% agreeing to surrender [FAIL]
  • 4/5 is 80% agreeing to surrender [PASS]
  • 3/4 is 75% agreeing to surrender [PASS]
  • 2/3 is 66% agreeing to surrender [FAIL]

So that when one annoying player keeps spamming surrender votes every three minutes, the other players can drag the box off the screen and not be forced to vote no repeatedly. Their non-votes (because they don't see the box) are correctly counted as no-votes.
