Why don't we have a true SOLO queue?

Why can I have 2 pre-made groups of 2 on the enemy team and an autofilled support in solo? I don't want a fucking flex queue experience, so it would be nice if you could make it JUST SOLO or at least limit it to ONE pre-made per team so I don't have to deal with 2 fucking people top lane for most of the game.

"BUT THE ENEMY BOT AND MID HAVE NO HELP!" I'm sure most of you think. NOPE. The enemy bot lane is a pre-made too. So they're fine. While my support is auto-filled and building as and forcing trades while flaming my who knows he can't win a 2v2 against

The reason is to lower queue times for finding supposedly well balanced games, but I would like to see if the timers are much longer if they restricted each team to having only 1 duo

That is about as wrong as you can get. Think about the number of duo players you run into. Take all of them out of your games and replace them with solo queuers. Much smaller group to work with. That means in solo queue there would be even more filling out of position since duo bot lanes aren't that uncommon and that means someone is actually playing support.

Unless you actually know how queue times are changed by small things like that don't make statements about how it would change times. As someone who works on games I know how drastically small changes like that can shift queue times around. If you see about 2 duos between the two teams in Solo/Duo queue then that means an average of 4 other people that have to be found. That means you are removing 40% of the people that matchmaking has to work with. That means on average 40% fewer games that get matched per day due to the lack of players. That also equals roughly 40% longer queue times, with a higher chance of getting filled because the longer queue goes on the more likely the computer is to autofill someone to speed it up.

The solution I would rather like to see is that they just remove duo entirely, and have a pure Solo Queue.

Flex already disallows teams of 4 (on OCE, anyway), so you can just have flex be teams of 2, 3, and 5.

No that's too much work :( also higher elo seems fun in itself because people there are friendly because they know each other.

Because some people have friends that they want to play with while not breaking the game, obviously 5 man is too much but duo's are fine (in my book anyway). You cant just abolish the whole system because you had a troll support, it happens and we all have to deal with it.

You can't. Solo Q is exactly the same as it was in season 5: Either 5 solo players on both teams or up to 1 duo per team.

Where is it? Where is that damn post that said "When Riot returns solo queue, people are gonna complain about that too?" I can't fucking find it. Someone plz...

And please stop trying to compare solo queue to flex queue. Premades in solo queue rarely ever coordinate with other premades. A premade of 4 where all 4 people are coordinating is much more difficult to deal with as a solo player.

Solo queue has been defined as solo/duo queue since he dawn of time. Please take your salt somewhere else.

Solo Queues test of ability would really rely on it TRULY BEING SOLO. Boosters benefit from duo queves, and if you wanna duo, trio or 5 man, you can join flex for that. Solo Q times wont go up because it wont be looking to match duo lanes in the game so it would actually be faster load times. Make a SOLO queve so we can see peoples true elo.
