how to get through the early game as twitch

i'm a silver 1 twitch main that used to be able to do decent with twitch enough in the early as to not be useless near mid game. But with the new changes to twitch W I feel like i've hit a rough spot. i used to be able to trade reliable well in the early game as twitch as i would always either play safe and farm or look for trades with a W(old)+auto+expunge to keep enemies at bay. But with the nerfs to twitches E earlier this year doing trades like those along with the slow tick new W it puts me at a risky spot. Especially if they have hard cc counters like Leona,ali,blitz. and thresh. who all make it really difficult for a twitch to try and get good trades off. or with people who either outrange you or out damage you i.e Draven,MF, lucian, Zyra, Brand, and Etc so i ask you guys what do you think i should do in this predicament all forms of criticism would be much appreciated because I'm hoping i can better myself with my main in this current season. Not as someone who plays for fun but as someone who knows how to decently get through laning phase and into his core late-mid/Late games [slayer-jinx-wink]
