hey look at me! i'm Tanking!

that's the biggest lie in the history of LoL.

Tanks are close to MEANINGLESS to play, why you would ask? because bruisers outclass tanks in every part of the game, haven't you asked why junglers like Vi and jarvan and lee sin are constantly played? while Tanks like amumu and sejunai and nautilus are rare to see in the jungle?

allow to me to explain, the mentioned junglers can ACTUALLY bring damage during ganks, while at the same time, can build defensive items, and excel at alot of things, which are; Securing a kill, and stealing the Tank junglers buff and when they do get caught they still have enough in thier kit to Destroy the "Tank" and take the buff by force, OR just scoop away with their mobility, as if their damage AND mobility isn't enough, they also have health% damage.

being a full pure tank means you do close to NO DAMAGE, even with 1 Damage item, your kit doesn't quite support it, you're meant to go full tank, but let me ask you this, is it worth it?

Tank items don't come cheap, they require Farming in jungle, they require you ganking, they require you to punish the enemy jungler for a gank by stealing their buff and so on, HOWEVER bruisers have enough damage and mobility in thier kits to excel against tanks in temrs of clearing speed, and Ganking, in a 2v2 situation, most likely the brusier/laner would win against the Tank/laner.

the current meta isn't quite forgiving on tanks, and riot's stubbornness won't give enough room for tanks, there are no legit "Worth" Tank item for both the time spent farming and ganking, you're not going to get stronger as you progress to farm and gank, and because you're slow, you WILL fall behind. there's been ungodly amount of times where i have been doing outstandingly well as a Tank jungler only to find myself as underleveled as the support, and their jarvan 2-3 levels ahead of me, and when you're a tank and behind, oh boy, you're in for alot of troubles.

JUNGLE ASIDE..

even at top lane tanks are ALSO outclassed by bruisers due to the damage they have to split push like a menace, while you try to defend your tower they can simply ignore you, knowing that you don't do any damage , and don't cry for me about pinging a jungler, it's top lane, and if you've reached the point where the enemy top ignores you, then he will kill that jungler during gank, and WILL run from you after he does so, implying he doesn' get a double.

**so how about we show some love for Tanky AP melee champions? amumu? sejuani? Nautilus? shen? can we have an item that's SIMILER to hydra, but instead of lifesteal and health reg, it would give armor and mgc resist? and have an active that deals bonus damage to towers? you know, something to keep the champions that cannot utilize 1 of the strongest top lane items, AKA Hydra **

Tanks are dying, a small buff here and there is not going to change that, don't go thinking switching that bonus hp to max hp on nautilus is going to change something big, he still has problems and you didn't change anything riot, you just made a shield last 1 more second during teamfight.

if you want to PROPER buff something, do something that WILL have an impact to the champion himself, for example instead of buffing his shield, give nautilus the FULL duration on his W, and See the impact he leaves, see how good his Tanking would be, now that he has something for the enemy team to be afraid of.

do not let tanks rot Riot.

Way to read the OP. Hes talking about jungle diversity - specifically low damage, slow clear junglers. AKA tank junglers.

@OP A better idea would be to buff the jungle for slower clear times. I suggest riot tally ALL the jungle clear times in the last round of LCS for each camp, average it out, and use it as a baseline. For every second a champion is actively trying to clear the camp, past the baseline, the gold earned from the camp increases by 5%. this way weaker junglers arent EXTREMELY out classed by champions like lee or vi who have insane clear times.

people are already having troubles with the current jungle, making it stronger will only shortens the circle of junglers

... what? Did you even read the idea to buff the jungle? Or did you stop at "buff the jungle"?

no, that's ust the thing, EVERY round of LCS i have seen had a bruiser as a jungler, i have yet to see a Tank jungler. (keep in mind i haven't seen all LCS matches)

however creating a new borderline based on those kind of clear speeds is most likely still going to hurt the slow clearspeed. THAT and the fact that the jungle doesn't get leveled up as the game progress, you actually need to keep clearing them so they comeback new, to give extra EXP. this is where the Tanky slow junglers fall, Riot expects ALL junglers to have a fast clear speed, they had in mind brusiers, not tanks, their excuse was

"oh so laners don't walk into the jungle and get some exp"

... the idea is to make a baseline clear speed, and then increase gold intake for slow clearing junglers who go OVER the baseline. Bruisers generally scale more with levels than gold, and tanks generally scale more with gold than levels. the suggested change allows junglers who scale with gold to stay on par with junglers who scale with levels. This comparability is especially important in the current EXP starved jungle, where junglers can go 12/2/15 and still be level 12 while their team is level 17.

EXAMPLE: Lee sin clears the puppies in 5 seconds. Nautilus clears the puppies in 15 seconds.

5 seconds is the baseline.

Lee sin earns 70 gold Nautilus earns 70+50% (105g total).

Thats 35 additional gold - thats a HUGE help to tank junglers who are largely gold dependant. AND its a change that would NOT be abusable by the top-tier junglers, as they would take unnecessary damage which wouldnt actually help them. Whats more, you could keep the gold scaling by 1% every minute and lock it to champions with smite - further strengthening gold hungry junglers such as tank junglers.

The suggested jungle buff isnt "hurr durr make da jungle harderrrrrr!!!!!!!". Its a secular buff to junglers with slow clear times so that they can compete with the current uber junglers.

that actually sounds amazing, no seriously, like this pure genius! that is EXACTLY what the jungle needs

That is a terrible idea... "Ok the baseline is this, if I just keep aggroing the wolves from a distance then go in before the hard reset then I can get more gold then the tank!"

All that would happen is brusiers would deliberately delay the camps and being how at the start tanks and bruisers are nearly matched in level of tank that wouldn't be a problem.

Make a distinction such as "champion must be actively attacking (IE the autoattack is always "active" - youre not stopping) and the timer resets whenever aggro is lost or the champion stops attacking. Its a simple condition that makes it much more difficult to abuse.

But youd rather just wallow in the meta. Really now. The idea is sound and good; for a bruiser to make use of the additional gold they would have to continue to get hurt far past the time they usually would, which greatly hurts their effectiveness as a jungler. Unlike tank junglers, which can take much more of a beating at the expense of less camps cleared.

A major problem people have with the 100g cost increase of smite upgrades is that junglers with slow clear times are penalized, making their clears even slower. this suggestion both remedies that problem and gives tank junglers, or simply non-meta junglers a viable chance to jungle even though they have slow clear times that would normally force them OUT of the jungle because they couldnt compete with bruiser junglers like lee sin.

Edit@thepaulrus You could actually fix that problem with the "conditions" i stated above. Making it so the gold increase only works if a champion is both "autoattacking" (they are autoattacking when not casting abilities, and are targeting a camp) and has "aggro" from a jungle creep keeps people from abusing it. You could also add a grace period of 1 second to switch targets, as long as you have jungle creep aggro, to allow people to keep the timer running when they kill a creep. the system suggested would actually reward junglers who kill the weak creeps first, then the large creep.

This idea is amazing!

The only thing I'd note is you definitely want to cap it, maybe at a 100% bonus. The only problem I see is you'll have people killing off all but the main guy, getting him to low health, and then dancing around it for 20-30 seconds waiting to get the extra gold. But as long as the gold values are adjusted such that it's more beneficial to move on to the next camp rather than wait around to kill the last guy, you've got a solid idea.
