Bard... the new jungler

The new champion, Bard, looks more like a great jungler to me, imo. The reason why is because he gains more xp, health, and mana from roaming (xp is something a number of players complain about for junglers) and he has a long range aoe ult that can close the gap for easy ganks. Not only that, but when the enemy hugs the wall it's stun 24/7 and if you gank bot lane, easy duo kills if they stay close to each other.

What do you guys think?

he literally has no damage or tools to clear jungle or protect against counter jungling, chimes alone don't give you gold from what i understand, and assuming his chimes works like threshes, the early game bonuses will probably be to small to make up for his clearing speed.

I can see it. Since he has only 1 damaging ability in his kit (Q), I think his early clear will be low end until he can get a Trailblazer. But if you get a leash on Krugs, you have his Q stun, plus Krug's stun, and once you get trailblazer you get a third stun, so he can probably get through the jungle safely, If not particularly quickly.

His Charms or whatever they are called will spawn in his general vicinity, at least early game, according to Meddler. That could help but could also distract him from his jungle route or slow him down further if he has to go out of his way (backtrack to an empty camp for example) but the XP would be worth the detour.

However since he can drop his health kits along his route, his repeat trips through the jungle should be a piece of cake. And with a situational stun, his ridiculous entry options with his portal and with his ult, it should be no problem to secure kills.

I think it is possible. However it looks like you will lack the sustain, and more importantly, the damage to jungle.

Also, in the description they basically said they do not want him to be a jungle like Alistair was.

He has little AoE and little damage.

Low damage and low base stats will probably keep him out of the jungle...unless people go with some really out there team comps.

I think on paper it works, but in the actual game it would not work. I think his damage is very low, since his kit is balanced around being a Support, and his base stats will be similarly balanced. His Utility seems more useful in a duo lane then as a Jungler, at least that's' how it looks to me. What i can see is him setting up those health shrines for his Jungler, if i was Bard id start with the health shrines then place one next to Blue/Red Buff to help them clear faster.

Im not so sure about a Support that roams, whenever i try roaming as a Support if i dont come back immediately my ADC will try 1v2ing for no reason (because they dont realize i am part of the reason why they are doing so well...) or my turret will fall in like the 5 seconds im gone somehow. Not to mention the toxicity that is aimed at me for leaving the ADC to help another lane even though the enemies are gone.

Good, I want a new jungler

Don't see it happening, even if he actually ends up having the damage and sustain to deal with the jungle, I'd imagine they would nerf him in some jungle related way (less damage to neutral monsters?) since they don't want him to become the TERROR that jungle Alistar was.

I would only be worried about jungle invades pre 6 :/
