How woulld YOU balance crit ADC's?

A quote from Meddler- > "If, as some folks are claiming, crit ADCs are in a terrible spot and should never be picked anywhere, we'll definitely we'll address that. Our goal is to have them be a decent (not mandatory, but decent) option in bot lane at a minimum. Certainly seeing some concern they just won't have a home at all, which is a very understandable worry. Still working to distinguish which of the different positions being argued are accurate though. As above, hoping to have more concrete thoughts next post." (Meddler Thoughts) >

Even though this quote suggests that crit ADC's might be a good spot still (they aren't) RIOT is going to need to buff/burf them is some shape or form. Here are my thoughts on some things that could happen.

Reverse base stat changes- The nerfs to armor and health regen have made bully adc and supports more dominant. Reverting the changes wold allow crit adcs to survive longer in lane, allowing them to hit there power spikes more frequently.

Case by Case changes- EG Ashe passive does more damage, Jinx has more utility etc. These changes might seem to be the best, but they are often risky and come back to bite us when the meta shifts even a little bit. (Looking at you Ezreal buffs)

Reduce Crit Item Prices- I don't think they would revert the prices fully, but two hundred gold off every crit item would go a long way. Arguably IE doesn't do as much now anyway so does it really warrant the higher price and annoying build path?

Do nothing - Yes crit might look bad now but is it **actually ** bad?(I think so). However players might just need to tweak their builds and/or play styles to fit this meta.

This is obviously not an exhaustive list. So what are your thoughts? Should crit adc's receive changes and if so what kind?

Honestly, I'd remove crit from the game

Crit is a shitty stat that results in RNG winning fights when you right click with the highest attack range in the game dealing Sustained damage at a level that reminds me of a malzahar burst

it's not healthy, nor is it good mechanics

I don't actually like the idea of right clicking being the central part of anything's kit

Now heres the thing

Jhin is still fine

Vayne has been suboptimal for a while now

Tristana Has been at the top of the food chain almost every other patch for several years now

Ashe Is fine

Graves Is fine

Jinx Can scale well with various other AD stats due to her W actually having a good ratio,

MissFortune Has like 500000000000 other builds

Draven Noone wants him in the game except draven mains... who noone wants in the game so it's a win/win

Caitlyn Totally Fine

Xayah has been an issue, lethality tforce build works fine on her.

Fiddlesticks Very good with the new item 3095 item 3508 , best crit adc in game

2 kind of adcs :

Ashe

Jhin

both are unique, and have obvious weaknesses. On-hit adc shouldn't exist, since you can't itemize against them, and crit mechanic is so fucked up now

Well, my suggestion is making crit items all based entirely on Energized attacks. You only crit when an attack is energized, and building crit reduces the time between energized attacks (of course, Rapid Firecannon and Fleet Footwork would need to be changed).

no they dont. their biggest issue is that games tend to end at 20 to 25 minutes right now, when their builds are geared to start to kick in around the same time.

this is a similar situation that we had at the start of season 7. but its a problem with overall game time and game pacing, not with crit marksmen.

crit marksmen are exactly where they should be. mediocre to weak early on with a strong lategame. as soon as lategame exists again, theyre going to be relevant again.

knee jerk buffs to marksmen was what fucked us the last time. fix isses with game pacing, reduce snowball so games dont end before they have a chance to scale, and for the love of god dont touch adc.

there is absolutely no reason for crit marksmen to have a good midgame, when their builds are geared to outscale everyone else. buffing their early/midgame is what made them mandatory for over a year in the first place.

what I would do is change

  1. IE build path to this: item 1038 +item 1036 +item 1037 + 1175 gold to make backs a little easier, being forced to back with 1300 gold now is not easy to do on every back
  2. item 3046 item 3085 item 3087 item 3094 reduce the cost by 100-200 gold each (probably 150 split the difference of what they nerfed just to see where they then sit) leave zeal alone at 1300.

if those 2 don't bring them back then i would do this 3. Give them the base armor back by half what they lost

Then if that doesnt work give them 4. Give them back the rest of the armor they lost

finally if that still doesnt 5. Give them the base health regen

I think small changes instead of big are needed, because as a crit adc main yes we were overpowered especially if we got 3-4 kills before 20 min.

https://www.leagueofgraphs.com/rankings/game-durations

look at these game times on average for 8.11. 27 minutes at lower ratings to 23 minutes at high mmr.

those are average game times. this means a lot of games are only either a couple minutes longer, or even shorter.

this is the root of the problem, and what needs to be fixed. a lategame scaling class will never be relevant in a game where lategame doesnt exist. reduce snowballing, increase game times and

dont

touch

adc.
