Darius passive is a spell effect.
That means it will proc deathfire right? Brand's passive is also a spell effect and it procs deathfire.

Generally speaking, on-hit effect DoTs won't apply spell effects because they weren't applied with a spell (see: Teemo, Darius. Darius CAN apply it with his Q, but it's predominantly an on-hit effect).
The only exception I'm aware of is the passive on Fizz's W for some reason. Which means Fizz can buy Rylai's and slow you with his autos (the active on his W even applies the full 40% slow, making it akin to Frozen Mallet on him).
