Why the abundance of CDR is a good thing
CDR is a great stat. And, it works with pretty much every character in League. It allows mages to go through spell rotations faster, tanks have better access to their CC, assassins have their escapes up faster, and divers can engage better. However, over time, more and more items in League started having CDR, which led to complaints of it being too easy of a stat to get.
But, that's a good thing. Think about, if CDR was harder to get, who benefits? Mages lose access to their spells, tanks lose access to their CC, assassins have to wait longer to combo, etc. But who does decreased CDR affect the least? ADC's. While it's true some ADC's work well with CDR, an ADC like Jinx or Ashe doesn't need CDR. And, with the hard CCing spells of their opponents on longer CD's, they would have an easier time mowing through a team.
So, the prevalence of CDR, is something that helps keep ADC's in check. If CDR becomes a harder stat to get, ADC's will be better. Just something to keep in mind.
