Has the Hotfix actually been implemented as yet???

I just played a game as Cass and literally none of the changes listed in the hotfix were implemented.

E mana cost still at 60/ cooldown still at .9

It should be out by now, yes. Because it's a server only hotfix tooltips will be inaccurate until the next patch though (nothing's being download to your computer, so the tooltip file can't be updated).

Thoughts on where Malz is at after the hotfix, or still too early to tell? His passive seems to be giving people a lot of trouble.

It's too early to tell what the exact impact of any of the hotfix changes was. None of them were targeted at completely solving the problems of the champions in question, both to avoid overreacting just after the patch and because there are some things we can't change in a hotfix. Malz's passive is one of those things, we'll be nerfing it in 6.10 instead.

Rather than simply nerfing it, have you looked at any potential bugs? I swear it seems to act like an outright spellshield, blocking spell damage entirely rather than 90% of it.

The Champion Update team's been tracking bugs with the updated mages. I'm not aware personally of any significant ones with Malz, though that's not to say there aren't potentially some out there. If you've got a way to reproduce a significant bug for him that'd be great to know as we're considering nerfs.

In terms of particular change we'll probably increase the passive's CD, giving opponents bigger windows of opportunity to play in once they've knocked it off him.

I'm not sure about reproducing bugs, but I swear that plenty of times it legitimately seemed like popping his passive with a spell resulted in NO damage, rather than just 10%. Maybe the damage was so insignificant that it didn't matter, but still.

10% damage can feel pretty close to 0% damage. Consider what it's like to beat on an Alistar when you're dealing 30% damage, you basically need your entire team working together to make significant progress. Malzahar is taking 1/3 that much damage.

Alistar heals are slight, but they're still noticeable. At least in my experience.

I'd be guessing it's just such a small number its hard to feel, especially if he's getting a health tick at the same time. Small amounts of damage also have small combat text, so it'd be easy to miss that if the resulting damage is only 5 points or something similar.

Certainly possible there's an actual bug though, would love details if you find any.

It was mostly from playing against Malzahar as Xerath, and playing AS Malzahar in OfA against Sona.

I swear that on multiple occasions I landed spells like Arcanopulse and Eye of Destruction, but it legitimately seemed like the spells didn't do ANYTHING, damage or otherwise.

Regarding the Sona match... yeah to be fair early game Sona doesn't do a lot of damage, so I guess it would have been so minuscule as to be unnoticeable.

If it isn't a bug, maybe you guys should consider reducing the damage reduction? I know it was plenty confusing and frustrating for me when I was wasting spells trying to keep that thing down or pop it, which I had to because getting in auto range meant getting into Space AIDS range.

Currently it is still nowhere state that the duration of his silence has gone down, from 3 seconds max. to 2 seconds max. Could you please add this in the patch notes just for clarity and for the database of changes on the Wiki?

RiotMeddler1 votes

Huh, our bad, that should definitely have been in the patch notes. Will follow up on getting that added to them. The Wiki by contrast's player run, so someone else will need to look at that.

Rouwhorst1 votes

The patch notes are out but the change is not stated in the patch notes. Maybe you could act quickly and still add it?

Master Yi's Q still has a bug where he can be struck while untargetable.

The hotfix appears to be live but casting swain's ult still appears to cancel movement commands and stop him for a small amount of time.

Okay thanks, I didn't know that

RiotMeddler2 votes

Welcome, it's extremely easy to miss, given gameplay changing but tooltips not isn't exactly intuitive behaviour. We do it though because it allows us to react to things faster and we feel having the two out of sync for at most a couple of weeks is sometimes worthwhile.

Whey they do an hotfix they dont change the mana cost or damage values on the hud, thats something they do later when the next patch hits (6.10), so yes, the hotfix might be up right now.

SaltyKracka1 votes

That would suggest it hasn't, wouldn't it?

MysticFlameHaze1 votes

I suppose but you see they posted Bout it for today 3 hours ago, I would assume that they hotfix the champs once they've posted about it.

SaltyKracka1 votes

Generally they announce things at least a little bit ahead of time.
