Placed HIGHER than I finished last year

I generally stop ranking up once I hit Gold V. I just finished placements after playing 10 rounds of my favorite champ as support, Vel'Koz. I went 8 and 2 and always had the highest damage, or second highest.

I've been seeing a lot of posts stating how people have been placed very low (like plats placing in silver), but just wanted to share my experience. I'll be spamming the Koz and hopefully I'll reach Diamond!
