Maokai needs an ARAM nerf.

I understand that ARAM will never be fully balanced compared to SR. But when a maokai is on the other team (or you are a maokai to be honest) it is just completely oppressive and unfair. With the way his e now functions he basically makes 1/3 of the map unusable by the enemy team due to fear of being hit by the detonation a stray nuclear warhead.

These are my thoughts for fair nerfs for ARAM.

  1. A seedling cap; like he does in URF, so max 3 seedlings on the map at a time for example.

  2. A proximity requirement - two different routes here. Option A: seedlings detonate if maokai is x units away. Option b: seedlings will move to be x units away from each other.

  3. A higher CD on his E.

Some other options to nerf him are item changes such as.

  1. Make oracles extract disable seedling unless you have direct vision of them.

  2. Return Hextech Sweeper to ARAM but make it provide no/minimal stats and stronger sweeping/disable function.

  3. Add green wards to ARAM but only 1 per person at a time.

I'll openly admit it is satisfying as -chat filtered- to play Maokai in ARAM, but i know it isn't fair for the other team, and that alone can take a from fun to im so f'n done in 1 second flat. So please consider doing something to help us out.

Pheak himself stated with his pate notes review that now multiple saplings causes diminishing returns. I'm not entirely sure how, but Phreak knows his stuff most of the time.
